He pretty much got the spot because the politicians above the team wanted one of the three Ngubus to be the hero in these penalties to boast about how multicultural they are and how those foul gammon fans should cheer when these players do their american religious duties on the pitch.
 
Now that the dust has settled, I'm pretty confident that they could have had 5 aryans taking the penalties and England would have still choked.

Still, it's actually delicious how the three black players were the only players to choke. It means that it's possible to say Fuck Saka, Rashford, Sancho and... NOT be racist because you're only calling out the three players who fucked up the penalty. If a whitey had fucked up too then of course it's easier to see if they're racist or not if they include that whitey in the hate, but right now it's actually incredibly spicy because anyone with a decent lawyer could very easily get anything thrown out as long as they're not dumb enough to say 'nigger' outright.

EDIT: What am I kidding with lawyers, no chance any of this goes further than twitter bans because even the Met will look the other way after Rashford niggered up the best chance of England winning a tournament in decades.

Almost. We have 3 players who have Brazilian parentage. But since we have a different way to see race, basically every Italian would consider them white.

And losing in the most English way. Score early with a spectacular goal. Get lazy and start losing their "shape", allowing the Italians more control. It evens out, goes to penalties, and England, right on cue, chokes when it comes to penalties.
 
All the seething that happened because nobody expected England to do what they always do and choke the most important games.

I'd feel a bit shittier about losing if the media weren't so fucking annoying with the hype.
 
This year has been great for futbol. Juventus finally didn't win Serie A. Premier League's title race disappointed, but seeing Liverpool stumble and then come back to form to keep their champions league spot was fun. Ligue 1 wasn't won by PSG for once, either. La Liga's title race was settled on the last day, and Atletico Madrid won it.

Now we had the Euro tournament settled via penalty kicks and Argentina won the Copa America. Some good stories all around.
