I've been seeing this kind of mentality a lot recently from other artists who do questionable artistic content, particularly of the legally grey variety. They get called out for posting their incest or ageplay or bestiality porn on public sites (especially sites like Twitter where blacklisting tags isn't a viable system) and then whinge about getting called out because they draw that stuff "to cope" and people not liking their material or questioning their motivations are oppressing their freedom of expression; then double-down on posting that same questionable to own the haters or whatever.

This usually circles in a similar fashion but eventually the artists will start talking about how the callout was good, ackshully, because it allowed them to filter out "fake friends" (aka: people who might actually be concerned about the artists's mental health and well-being, because drawing incest "to cope" sounds really questionable to most people with a functioning brain) and "real friends" (aka: enablers who share similar fetishes who want the artist to continue making them free fap fuel). This is especially prevalent with artists who work alongside their partner(s) who share similar fetishes, because they won't just keep their weird shit in the bedroom and will start trying to market it to others.

(This sorta turned into a vague rant about another artist whose work I used to enjoy, but this definitely still applies to Floraverse as well.)
Dollars to donuts you’re talking about SpottyJaguar and MoltenGoldArt.
(Moving this conversation from Floraverse Thread since it's not really on-topic there. Sorry for double post but this is a continuation of a different conversation.)

That's exactly who I was talking about.

Watching Molten in particular go from kinda decent monster artist to master/slave play to occasional DD/lg stuff to full on father/daughter incest to ageplay to (possibly) actual minor characters has been like watching an eight car collision on the highway skid straight into a fucking gas station. It certainly doesn't help that she's surrounded by people who are drawing snuff, rape-play, dog fucking and incest for a living (apparently some have ties to actual zoos, although further confirmation might be good). I don't know whether this shit was her idea or Spotty's (probably both to be fair) but I really wish they'd keep their weirdo shit on private sites and stop trying to market age play in particular on social media and platforming sites frequented by minors.

Oh god, didn't Molten get legally adopted by Spotty or something fucked up like that, just so they could make their weird fetishistic daddy/daughter relationship legally accurate, and also probably illegal?

Edit: To be clear, that was something I believe I read on here and I don't know if it's accurate.

Anyway, thanks to this reminder I went to check out both of their FA pages and it looks like they've decided to follow the Zaush method for posting cub/loli porn to the site by just not labeling it clearly and making it juuuust ambiguous enough. Unlike Zaush they're not fuckbuddies with dragoneer and not big enough to turn their fans against dragoneer, so they're toeing the line more carefully.

I'm really not sure? Looking at the post again they seemed to be joking since people had accused her and ShadderStag of being Spotty's biological children. Additionally, some of the age stuff for MoltenGold and ShadderStag were flubbed by Mangcho while he was posting their information, and I'm not sure if you can legally adopt a grown-ass adult. It is somewhat questionable as you did some digging at the time and found that Namiin/Molten was likely around 18 when she and Spotty got together but I'm inclined to doubt that she's considered his daughter in a legal sense.

Ah fuck, the memories. I had purged that from my brain, blissfully. Fingers crossed that wasn't real, but even as a joke it was creepy.

Here's one of the pictures I was talking about. I wasn't going to bother posting any of them because I felt for sure that I was just being a sperg about it but then I read the dialogue on this one and it's just... It's something else.

Yeah that's one of the more recent ones she's done. She veered hard into the DD/lg kink which wasn't unexpected given all the other shit, but the fact she's been talking more and more about ageplay as time goes on has me bracing for her to get kicked off FA for posting minor shit in the near future. The way she describes coming out about her kinks to her partner and him not only encouraging but actively participating in them really makes me suspect that this is only going to continue to escalate.

What's wrong with fucking a dolphin? I remember reading up on a certain website about how it's an awesome activity! You really think someone you just go on the internet and tell lies?

I missed this somehow but yeah; both her and Spotty have been talking about no longer tagging their incest or ageplay shit on sites like Tumblr or Twitter or FurAffinity. Which is really obnoxious actually because while I know they're doing it to avoid harassment from people browsing those tags specifically to raise shit, they are leaving people who genuinely don't want to see their content at all open to stumbling across and seeing it before having the opportunity to block. Tumblr has an entire extension for blacklisting certain tags and while Molten has a mentality of "just block if you don't like", it still requires someone to find your shit in the first place. Twitter's mature content filters are a little easier to work with but someone finally made a blacklist extention for FA last year so for Spotty and Molten to go "there's no FA tag block options" despite there being an extension available just means that now anyone who is perusing the browse section can just stumble upon their DD/lg or incest garbage by accident even with the tagblocking extension installed.

Speaking personally, I don't block anything on principal because I can deal with questionable content; there's very little that bothers me anymore. But treating their fetishes with the "fuck you got mine" attitude so that anybody might see it (especially anybody who might have a history of incest-based abuse or child sexual assault) is a pretty callous and belligerent attitude, even if they are okay with being blocked by naysayers. And it honestly doesn't matter if Molten is claiming that what she draws "isn't abuse" because it's consensual incest or consensual ageplay; she's marketing her content to a broad public by using social media, so she and Spotty need to accommodate that as much as anyone else should. If they don't want to tag their shit on their own sites then who honestly gives a fuck, but FA and Twitter and Tumblr are not exclusive platforms for people into incest or ageplay.

Tl;dr I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt when this shit started they were at least observing due diligence to ensure that people just discovering their work could have some public security against it, but since they no longer give a fuck about how they expose other people to their content by not even bothering to tag it, then giving a fuck about hurting their feewings is way out the window for me.

These types of people must have really sad lives outside of twitter if these are the things they tweet about.

What makes this sad is that i'll freely admit that because they were actually p decent folks and kept to themselves, I didn't give a shit what they did. I really enjoyed the skill level they had for their art even if the fetishes were questionable at best. I legitimately put blinders on because they did specific things (art style/drawing related) that I wanted to see if i could learn to do and in the end, it happened I guess but when they started veering into "FICTION WILL BECOME MY REALITY" lane I had to cut ties. The whole adoption thing, the not tagging, it just got to be too much. If that's your thing, yeah ok i don't care, you have your obviously fictional kinks and so does everyone else but when you start going full martyr and victimization route with it then you've done too much and gone too far. I usually pop up to talk a bout Spotty and Molten and I did defend them in the past on here because of bias but each time you guys bring them up I just get this feeling of shame and sadness. The type that's not "i upported them and I look like a FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL" but the type that's like "they aren't bad people but i feel stupid for ignoring obvious problems for the sake of an amazingly high skill level that I wish to achieve.

Anyway that's my crypost. I unfollowed Spotty on twitter ages ago but they privatized their account. Molten I think is still open for followers and Shadderstag is too. Last time I checked, they're still going on about being victims of unfair censorship despite admitting that they won't tag shit and taking pride in that.

Feels-speaking here for a moment but yeah that was sort of my experience as well. I was tolerant of their weirdo kink stuff despite the red flags because I could still at least admire the artistic talent if not the content, and as long as they posted their stuff with applicable warnings I saw little reason to take genuine offense until now. I don't have the same issue with other creators who make questionable content (WhiteMantis for example) because while they are still drawing incest at the very least they aren't martyring themselves over making it a lifestyle and are still actively tagging it (even if it seems to be their main body of work now) so people can avoid it.

So apparently the furry sex toy site bad dragon has stopped making and shipping of their custom 🐓'S and🐈ies while the covid outbreak is going on not just to protect the "staff" but also cause the mail services are taking a hit from it too. Thought you can still left get shirts, lanyards ect from them.

So maybe this should be posted in the thread good things Corina's done but since it's furry related I thought I'd mention it here.

Fully agree with you. My only gripe with whitemantis is that they cant seem to pick a focus. Gorgeous art and ideas; I followed them for their insect comic but they fully got on board with their dragon siblings and that was disappointing. But you're right about them and plus they usually try to keep it contained in their mutual group.

This exact thing is why e621's famous and controversial "tag what you see" policy exists. It's well documented that artists and uploaders will refuse to tag content, either tagging it too vaguely or omitting tags that might get blacklisted. This ended up becoming a problem with gender tags however.

This is a common thing to do in leftist Twitter circles and this was common on Tumblr as well. Some troon will declare some video game character or cartoon character from a kids show to be gay/trans/some other trendy political shit and will end up getting mocked for this. They will then declare anyone who makes fun of them a bigot, even if they're mocking the fact that they're forcing their identity politics on a character from a children's cartoon or video game. Nevermind the fact that this would never happen because sales of said media would dip as parents accuse it of brainwashing their children.

There's a reason "read another book" became a common retort to political protesters who compared real world events to a book for kids.

I can kinda understand that though; it's really easy to get burned out if you've been working on the same thing for years and years. I suspect that as much as their Timeless stuff is fuelling their artistic interests right now, they're eventually going to want to shift gears if only for some variation. Frankly I'm surprised they've stuck with their Blade Under Mask stuff for as long as they did; it seemed like they'd been working on that one story (with bits and pieces from Shattered) forever before turning their attention to Timeless.
