The furry threads on this site have lots of excellent content from furfags. The Farms more or less replaced the vacuum left by the demise of Crush Yiff Destroy.

The comparison between Dragoncon and Furry Weekend Atlanta is staggering. They are held in the exact same location a few weeks apart. FWA has around 12k attending while dragon con is 75k.
Furries don't have any tipe of general IP to galvanize around, nor are they easy to monetize for big business, like anime. There's a sufficient number of them. Not A LOT lot, but enough for us to throw quips about them on a regular basis.

Nigga it's one of the largest cohesive fandoms on the planet, gaming and comics aren't universal but furry is. All furries are into furry art and media, not all people who like comics and games enjoy the same shit.

This one might be on Blizzard themselves. They've famously replaced paintings of women with paintings of houseplants or some shit. I don't think this has anything to do with furries, but with overall sanitization and hearthstonefication.

Most muh sex appeal furries I see in games are either playable characters or at least allies of the playable characters. WoW and WoTC making monsters look muh sex appeal is entirely on them. The real issue for me is the hypocrisy. Making human women look like monsters while making furry men look like bipedal puppy dogs with abs. Granted avowed even made the gay furries ugly so perhaps even that has gone away.
