BLFC Dress-Code Update:
October 4, 2025 - For immediate release
Greetings,
In light of the violent incident at the GSR that occurred on July 28th 2025, we are making a last-minute change to our attendance policies to enhance safety. We apologize for this being
such a last-minute change, and we always strive to not make such changes- This year, unfortunately, is an exception.
You may not wear a costume that can be mistaken, at a distance, for modern law enforcement, military, or paramilitary, such as "tactical gear." Historical items not used within the last 30 years are still permitted, and this 30-year timeframe defines 'modern' for this rule. Any questions about what is and is not permitted, please contact con ops for guidance. You may be asked to remove some elements to make the costume no longer mistakable for the above.
We apologize for the last-minute nature of this change, and if this change affects your decision to attend, we do, as always, have a no-questions-asked refund policy Go to your order history at https://reg.goblfc.org/account/orders, click the triple-dot icon on your order, and select "request refund."
Thank you for your understanding.

Obviously, the (last-minute) announcement has stirred up the usual controversy of mil-sup furry outfits. I suppose most humorously is the "30 year" limit they've put on the uniforms... guess Operation Desert Storm is a-OK per the rules.
Subculture that promotes dressing up and expressing oneself calls other costumes a 'red-flag'
"If we keep 'certain d-bags' from dressing up in an identifiable way, it'll be harder for them to sneak in"
Not sure the universe Kibbles is living in where conventions are bending over backwards to allow milfurs when most cons are clamping down on it, in part due to the Bomb Voyage 'incidents'.
"Damn these loopholers following the rules!" and the classic "I'm not going to attend this year but here's my 2 cents for what it's worth (nothing)"
