Furrydelphia has finally updated on what Furgeddaboutit is, making it abundantly clear this is a spite convention over the Garden State Fur the Weekend drama. If you want to see the full video, I'll put it in the spoiler below, but I screenshotted the two most important parts of the video:

There are already three glaring dramas over this announcement, so I'm going to do my best to break down all three of them:
ISSUE #1: Pinefur Meets is involved
Almost immediately after this was posted, furries started complaining that Furgeddaboutit was actively associating with Pinefur Meets. From what I can tell, the quick version is that Pinefur is ban-happy and has a reputation for banning people they don't like with sketchy to no evidence. They also (allegedly) had no problem with letting minors near alcohol.

ISSUE #2: The Furst State is involved
Furst State is a Delaware-based furry organization that monopolizes meets in the area and runs the Furry New Year's Ball. From my conversations with furries in the region (while working on other threads), the consensus seems that most people enjoy the events but strongly despise the current leadership. Furst State has since gained a reputation for being excessively ban-happy over petty issues. I mentioned this here on the forums two years ago when they banned someone
for being too right-leaning, and again last year when they
outright randomly banned multiple people from their chat without explanation.
There was drama in the NYFB chat when someone saw the Furgeddaboutit announcement and asked how involved Furst State was with the event. A bizarre argument ensued, during which multiple staff members refused to answer the question. This went on for a while before one of the admins eventually locked the discussion.
Since the chat is invite-only, someone sent me the following screenshots of the argument:
ISSUE #3: Someone else already set up a different Spite-Convention on the same days
If you read the screenshots in the last spoiler, you'll notice another event mentioned happening at the same time, called The Big One. From what I can tell, The Big One is being organized by PawSouls, who has hosted a handful of New Jersey-based furmeets over the past couple of years. This is also notable because PawSouls was listed as staff for GSFTW but quit shortly after the 2024 convention. As of this writing, she is listed on
the convention's WikiFur article as a former staff member. Pawsouls is also the only named whistleblower in
Dogpatch's article about the convention's drama. In my opinion, that makes her testimony particularly significant, as it is the only one with real weight behind it. Everyone else Dogpatch referred to as "anonymous staffers," and we're just supposed to take their statements at face value, with no proof that he wasn’t simply making it up.
Anyway, it seems that after Pawsouls left GSFTW, she returned to organizing meets for a few months before the GSFTW drama escalated significantly. She later announced a mini-convention on December 18th via a comic—ironically, the same day the Furgeddaboutit Twitter account was created. In my opinion, their announcement had far more effort put into it and is miles better than the unfunny garbage video Furgeddaboutit released. This comic was spread out over several tweets, so I'm only bothering to save the images themselves:
The rooms for the hotel opened up on the 23rd, which is still a full day before Furgeddaboutit's announcement.

As of now, Furgeddabout is currently running damage control over the fact their spite convention is intersecting with another spite convention.

People also complained the Furgeddabout website was taking a shot at Paw's event, though it seemed they tried to mitigate this by adding an addendum. It's worth noting that the entire website currently consists of nothing but an FAQ as of now:

TL;DR: A group of furry con organizers who are already disliked by many furries are organizing a "spite convention" to overshadow another convention happening simultaneously. People are already upset about who’s getting involved in this mess, and now the organizers look even worse for sabotaging someone else’s spite convention which was created to spite the first convention.
This is so painfully autistic that I'm not even sure how to end this post, so here's a meme I made for fun while I was working on documenting this shitshow:
