AnthrOhio just opened registration and hotel bookings for 2024 today.

Their 2023 event caused a small amount of drama as their COVID policy was much more aggressive than other cons. At the time, they required vax, the most recent booster (which I think was only 1-2 months old at the time) and you had to wear masks in con space. My best guess is that due to it being a smaller con, it didn't kick up as much drama outside of furries around Ohio. Still, they were at least upfront about it and put the policy on the bottom of every page, if this 2023 archive of their website is anything to go by.

At this point in Covid life, this is the direction that everyone should be taking. Shift the focus away from Covid and onto preventing the spread of various con cruds (of which Covid is now a member). Pre-Covid, Further Confusion had a major flu outbreak, so shifting gears to focus on general health and safety in known plague vectors (conventions in general) is not amiss.

I hadn't heard that name in a long time. I remembered him to be a huge fucking sperg who breaks down into sobbing fits over the smallest things.

It'd seem he hasn't changed. Expect this con to collapse into disaster rapidly if anything else negative happens to him, such as someone ghosting him on grindr.

how confident are we that this is legit? we on the farms oughta know best how fake and gay a "totally legit piece of paper" can be

one thing you gotta remember is to never assume people in the same community sharing the same drama are gonna be too different from one another
a guy commentating on a crazy man doesn't neccesarily make that guy sane and wise, he might be just as crazy

It's a letter, not an order.
It's also claiming a photograph is a defamatory statement... it's not. It's a matter of truth.
Unless the photograph is manipulated in some way, it's just a picture.

In the year of our lord 2024, Fur The More is still insisting on strict COVID rules - mandatory masks, vaxx and booster, and checks on same. It's not clear anyone's actually taking them up on this - this is apparently a 1000+ atendee con, and on their socials all recent posts are trying to get people to book rooms, with zero interaction.

I'm honestly not surprised to see this lack of interaction. I've made posts about it earlier in this thread, but the last two years of Fur the More managed to alienate a huge portion of the attendees, and it's not unreasonable to assume most of the furries who attended in '22 and '23 decided it wasn't worth going back.

'22 rather infamously changed their covid policy roughly 3 hours before badge pickup began, it fucked over a lot of vaxxed people who didn't pack the actual card. They previously told people to bring their covid card or take a picture of it, then edited it at the last second to say "physical card only".

In '23, there were a bunch of restrictive rules placed in the hotel that went unannounced until about 2 days before the convention. This included spending months hyping a "noisy" hotel block, then canceling it at the last second, telling everyone they'd all be in the same hotel block, and responding to criticism with "tough, stay quiet or we'll kick you out".

The fact they couldn't even get 15 likes on a tweet announcing the room block is open says a lot about how few people are willing to give the event any attention. It reminds me a lot of how Idubbzz told his fanbase to fuck off for not liking his newer videos, and the fans responded by doing exactly that.

I mean could we have a situation where free-for-all beats furthermore in attendence? Because I know it's not likely but holy fuck would it be hilarious.
 
AWOO Association's (parent company of Free Fur All) license that allowed them to operate as a non-profit expired a few weeks ago, which would be notable if anyone involved seemed to care. None of the Free Fur All social media has been updated in 8 months, and neither Jasonafex nor Kabier seems to have mentioned anything about the convention or the non-profit since.
