The man is a broke sex offender, scrapping by in SoCal, who still lives off parent's senile apathy (I'm still shocked they never kicked him out after the SECOND ARREST), the moment they keel over he's probably gonna try Couch surfing with the few furs who don't care.

That and I'm sure FWA sent him to Banworld with a majority of the other cons, his money is radioactive at this point.

There hasn't been any official word on him being banned from FWA. PAWCon & 1 of the big cons in the Lower 48 (forgot which one - maybe BLFC?) are the only 2 I've heard an official ban against him

We’re talking about a fandom that actively turns a mostly blind eye to dog fuckers, diaper shitters, drug users, and lord knows how many other fetishes.
Growleys money wouldn’t be radioactive to them even if it came straight out of Chernobyl in 1986.
As long as it’s green, and he doesn’t try to bone any kids in the lobby, cons will turn a blind eye to him too.

It was FC (A con in San Jose), it doesn't name him, but it's obvious that it a new rule banning sex offenders was implemented due to Growly.
 
I remember I read somewhere (can't remember for the life of me the name of the account, but I think it was on twitter) someone talking about RainFurrest stuff and how she didn't know the hotel they were staying was also hosting furries from that convention. The person wasn't a furry by any means and was married with a guy who also wasn't a furry, and the couple had a five-year-old kid.

The woman said the furries walked in full fetish gear, as in collars, leather masks, diapers, etc, even knowing other guest's kids were around, and the smell in the lobby was insupportable. She also mentioned someone took a shit in the pool. I remember I wasn't so desensitised about furries and their culture when I first read it and my eyes felt like melting.

It's almost as if the furry culture attracts people with mental illness. I know that one guy in the video posted by OP blames the drugs, but he's still missing the main issue. Any adult who dresses like a furry or shits in a diaper is the same type of person who'll proudly list off their numerous mental health diagnoses and prescribed brain melting drugs. These people would be doing fucked up things even if they were sober once their collective mongolian idiocy kicked in.

Only one I know about is Tumbles the Dragon but I didn't view it as that interesting. Considering I actually lived through RF15, the bar is set pretty high on con drama.

Also on that note, I'm probably gonna take a short break for a day or 2 because one of my other threads made me fucking depressed. Seen enough horror for today. If you guys dig up anything, compile it here.

Most fan cons were considerably smaller around 2000 than today, 500ish attendees versus thousands, so people acting up and getting away with it was harder when there were few enough people to be recognized/remembered. I used to visit anime cons when fansubbed stuff was a hard to find commodity and the cons were small enough to meet some cool nerds, and quit when they were all full of throngs of people packed wall to wall. The furry stuff I'm certain was similar; the further back you go the more a con is just a hangout for a couple hundred people.

The furry Down The Rabbit Hole video is actually a good history of the early fandom and drama. The original Confurence was mentioned in the video, and Confurence 8 was a turning point for the fandom. Confurence 8 was like a 90s Rainfurrest, as furries openly showed the sexualized side in front of everyone. Really, this quote from an open letter about the aftermath would predict later cons to the T:
We overheard others, on more than one occasion ask, "What's a furry?" and receive the answer, "I don't know. I'm just here for the parties and sex."

That one con is what led to numerous reactions from other parts of the fandom, both vocal and subtle. One could argue it's also why some furries really push hard towards optics/public image as well.

I'd watch the whole video but I went to the part in the video that gets to this drama in particular. It then follows up with what led to the creation of stuff like Burned Furs, Eric Blumrich's furry fandom mocking, and the reactions they got.

I think if you only got the furs who are technical with things like streaming then ya, but I don't think AnthrOhio is popular enough for most furries to care about that.
