Forgot to post this earlier. Furnal Equinox Con has started today(Friday), going until Sunday. Here are the screen caps of all the fucked up ones.

Somehow, I completely missed this, so I'm posting it now.

Fur The More held its 2025 event two weekends ago. Based on the planning for this year and issues in previous years, I initially had low expectations for the convention. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Despite everything, I was proven wrong and this year seemed to go quite well. The event had a solid turnout, no major controversies surfaced, and the organizers reported record highs in both attendance and charity donations.

But then, the inevitable happens, and the fingers of the cursed monkey paw curl. During their closing ceremonies, they announced that next year’s venue will be in Baltimore, the city where the convention originally began. The event will take place across two adjacent hotels: the Lord Baltimore Hotel and Hotel Monaco.

They are straight-up hosting Fur the More 2026 at a haunted hotel :story:.

Cue the inevitable jokes about the ghosts witnessing terrible sex atrocities happening in the rooms and deciding not to haunt any of the furries because they're already haunted enough.

I have a feeling they were inspired by this movie.

Aren't a lot of old hotels and other historic buidlings supposedly haunted? Supposedly a bunch of people committed suicide there during the Great Depression, or the Mafia hid bodies in the concrete foundation, or there was an unsolved murder decades prior, or some other event that tied restless spirits to the place.

I got curious and looked it up myself, and found this article (Ghost Archive) by the Baltimore Banner about a ghost hunting event held there in 2023. Supposedly the Lord Baltimore is haunted by Great Depression suicides. The article ends with this banger of a line:
The hotel ghosts did not respond to repeated requests for comment.
:story:

There's a few possibilities here:
  1. The event organizers didn't know the hotel was supposedly haunted and were just after more space to host their convention.
  2. The organizers did know, and will be doing their theming around the hauntings, the paranormal and other spookiness.
  3. The organizers don't know yet, but will lean into it when they find out, as above.
  4. Whether or not the organizers know or find out, they will try to conceal it, despite the concerns of attendees, and there will be retarded drama.
  5. The ghosts, upset by the degenerate hoard that descends upon the hotel, fuck with the furries, resulting in retarded drama.
  6. The ghosts, upset by the degenerate hoard that descends upon the hotel, fuck off permanently; the furries in effect perform a dark exorcism on the place.
I'm personally hoping for a blend of 4 and 5. That would be the funniest.

It looks like it's #2. I was discussing this in a DM with someone who attended Fur The More, and they mentioned that the "haunted" aspect was brought up during the closing ceremony, so the organizers are fully aware of it.

Additionally, I was sent these screenshots of a response from Kitra Drago (Fur The More's chairman) in the convention's official Telegram chat. This was their response was to someone asking whether a haunted hotel would have any impact on the convention:

Oh good lord, that sounds like it'll be a nightmare. Here's hoping someone doesn't go full retard and perform any Satanic/black magic rituals there between now and Fur The More 2026.

It depends on a lot of factors.

Most old hotels have some form of residual hauntings due to the amount of traffic they've gotten over the years. Hauntings tied to specific dead individuals aren't out of the ordinary and can range from being benign to malicious, especially if the owners don't pay any sort of respect to any lingering dead that are there. Non-human hauntings are uncommon but tend to be caused by absolute idiots, occasionally working under the guise of being a paranormal group, either command the dead to come forward and talk to them and/or they perform dark rituals to talk with anything paranormal regardless of whether or not it was living in the first place.

News from Furnal Equinox - the con management apparently doesn’t hold with Antifa and considers them dangerous so, they are banning Antifa stuff. Much salt and pants shitting results:

… the only community being worked against is your terrorist organization, Flipp.

Canada's Furnal Equinox has already started to break down days before the convention starts with a broken online registration system, no tickets being sold at the door because the convention is "sold out", but didn't bother to announce that until about three days before the con thus messing up many furries' plans to attend the con, add to that the "Up" escalator will be out of service for a second year, and a DJ has been kicked out of the dance lineup over something negative to the convention's woke policies in keeping the con a safe space for all it's special snowflakes.

Chatted with some folks at the con who had printed out their badges at Staples. I was surprised by how reasonable the facsimiles were, and at a hefty discount. Easily my favorite individuals at this event.

Next time they should print the words "Fully Vaccinated" and the convention won't find any reason to remove the stickers.

I don't want to derail the thread, but seriously dude, archive your fucking links. Your posts have been cluttering the thread with random screenshots and usually without linking back to the source. While it's understandable for Discord or Telegram screenshots (where direct links aren't always possible), many of your posts are just Twitter screenshots, which could very easily be linked. If you want to contribute meaningfully, consider following the example set by other users in the thread.

That being said, yes, this video seems somewhat degenerate, but I'm more curious how you managed to find this video, screenshot it, and post it in this thread within three minutes of it going live on YouTube. It seems extremely unlikely that you came across this by chance. Would you care to explain?

Anyway, back to Con Drama. I've been seeing this one float around a couple of places, but it's yet to be properly archived, so fuck it, I'll do it.

Last weekend was Furnal Equinox. During the convention, some furries started littering convention space with Antifa stickers. When con staff noticed, they responded by confiscating the stickers, which caused a bunch of Antifa larpers over on Bluesky and Mastodon to melt the fuck down.

But don't take my word for it, here's a wall of text "Flipp" wrote on Mastodon about how terrible the con staff are for removing political stickers.

TLDR: Flipp was called into the safety office after staff discovered they had been throwing Antifa stickers around the con. Staff informed them that the stickers were being removed due to their political nature. Flipp responded by ranting about fascism and law enforcement, staff laughed at them. Flipp then accused them of being fascists; a staff member reportedly replied by saying they were Jewish and that the Antifa messaging wasn’t considered relevant in Canada in the first place. During the exchange, a friend of Flipp's accidentally dropped their glasses and scratched the lens, somehow this is the staff's fault. Flipp was also asked to remove Antifa stickers from their walking cane, which Flipp said was disability discrimination.

They reposted the same story on Bluesky and have been doubling down on it across dozens of posts at this point. I'm not going to bother linking it because I don't want to give them any more attention for their spergout, but if you're wondering who would write up a wall of text like that, it's pretty much exactly the type of person you'd expect:
