She was uplifted, but it was done early when the process was new and the science still had flaws. It proceeded too rapidly, without time given to evolving the parallel physiological enhancements to support it - her lifespan was extended and she was bestowed with the gifts of abstraction and human reasoning, but her brain, overclocked as it was, was still too limited a container for such a rapid infusion of intellect.
She awoke in the uplift lab as a person rather than an animal, her clarity and understanding refined enough for her to comprehend that she was no longer just a deer, and that she had been forever changed. Her memories from before seemed distant and foggy, as if all her life she'd been perceiving the world through mental cataracts. By the hand of science she had become much larger, her perception reaching out like tendrils toward the light of knowledge. Something felt wrong for her though... a lingering discomfort, as if she was now so much larger than her brain and body. It was dysphoric, like her body had become a cumbersome weight holding her back from true enlightenment. She had grown too large for such a limited vessel, and since she couldn't revert the scope of her expanded mind, she had to alter herself in other ways to compensate. She needed to become smaller again; it was the only way she could ever fit back within herself. With each leg she had removed she felt a little closer to returning to the primitive, elemental innocence that uplift had taken from her. But it was never quite enough; she was still misfit, a large square peg trying to fit into a small round hole.
After downsizing her body, only further degradation made her feel any closer, a little more whole. She needed to be a slut, to be treated like something small and worthless, just an object for others to use. She wanted to be a pillow, a warm cocksleeve. She had her teeth removed next. And as an early uplift she was a novelty, so finding partners to carry her to their beds and belittle her was not difficult, even with her disfigurement... Sometimes it even attracted the types of people who's company she needed. Every time she became a meaningless tool for someone else's pleasure another little part of herself was excised. She hoped someday she would finally be complete again, even if it meant the last parts of herself disappearing until nothing was left.
