Not a furry, but I do know some artists. They refuse to go to Inkbunny because of its reputation for protecting pedophilia art. Or "Cub Porn".

So long as they don't mention "cub porn" anywhere in the descriptions or titles, and doesn't involve any humans, it's A-OK there.

If you have artist refusing Inkbunny, they may as well go to Weasyl then. Is the reputation of Weasyl tainted by anything yet such as drama?

Not that I'm aware of. If anything Weasyl is commonly seen as the anti-FurAffinity in that it's actually well made, has actual features, isn't run by a bunch of cunts and doesn't hire dog rapists.

e621 is an art aggregate site and not necessarily a place where artists can maintain a gallery so to speak.

As far as what will "replace" FurAffinity, there are a number of players out there right now. Inkbunny, as previously mentioned, is a possible alternative however Orthodox Chrischanity is correct in noting that it has a reputation for "cub" art, so within the fandom people tend to avoid it unless they are specifically looking for that type of art. Inkbunny received a boost in traffic following FurAffinity's termination of all cub art a few years ago.

Weasyl is another alternative, and the most likely one that people will flock to. Weasyl is primarily an art site and artists have been trickling over there for quite some time, just not at the pace that the mass-exodus rate that we're seeing right now. My honest thoughts is that Weasyl will become "the new FA".

There are also some lesser known places that users may flock to, but most likely will not see a massive surge in new users. One such community is SoFurry which was established originally as YiffStar (The Yiffy Story Archive) in 2002 before shifting gears into a more art-centric site a few years back. SoFurry continues to attract mostly writers despite their reformation as a general art site.

FurAffinity had a good run, but I feel like they've been in the spotlight long enough. It's honestly only been a matter of time until they fell by the wayside, as is the circle of life online. First there was VCL, then Furnation, then FurAffinity, and now whichever community takes center stage following this fiasco.

Usually when people go to e621 they're too aroused to have any kind of real discussion that isn't just a copypaste of the PornHub comment section. As I said I'm 99.9% certain Weasyl will be the "new FA" assuming shit really hits the fan just as @Super Collie said, people have been jumping ship for a while.

Also Inkbunny makes baby Jesus cry. Case and point.

Basically yes. It's especially evident in the FA forum thread I posted earlier where almost everybody (except Pheagle whose a lolcow in his own right) basically called Dragoneer a lying cuntbag. Also it's a common practice among members to mock how shitty FA and Dragoneer is albeit in private (as to not get banned). Everyone hates FA, they hate how dated the site is, they its owner, they hate the userbase, they hate most of the staff, they hate everything. The only reason people stay is because it's where everyone is whether they like it or not. It's basically the Wal-Mart of furry smut.

Dragoneer is a massive tool and he is hated by and large by the very fandom he panders to. It would take me quite some time to sit here and explain all of the things he's done over the years. The only people who associate with him are people who are trying to be popufurs by proxy through having a position of authority on a popular furry website. That's literally it. Dragoneer is the furry fandom's equivalent of that one guy everyone knows who tries to bum a few bucks off of you every now and then and asks to sleep on your couch.

Neer has not wronged me personally or specifically, but he and his website have been a massive detriment to a fandom that I love. I hope he fucking burns.

FurAffinity didn't exist in 2001. They started up in 2005.

Unless I'm reading that wrong and you mean Furnation started in 2001 (no idea) and people later migrated from there to FurAffinity (again, no idea).

I'm not familiar with the whole migration process. I just mentioned the event occurred and a similar one is happening again 15 years later.

Furnation is older than 2001. I remember browsing it in 1996 on my old Windows 3.11 machine.

No, I'm not going to say why.

tl;dr there are 32 pages in this one archive alone. And all of these require an "Access pass" you must pay money for simply to view. There are even more that don't require one.

I'm just fascinated. How has no one tried to report IMVU to whatever govt. sect. looks into shady businesses? If they're doing this so blatanly, there's a hell of a lot more that they're doing behind the scenes
