The first time I saw it was on Something Sensitive around the time the pedophile SA mod Aatrek got removed (I think that was around 2015?) and it was 100% pejorative there. Late 2000's. There already were Fagoons to refer to LGB proportion of that site but as usual, trannies wanted their own special thing so Troon was the term for them. They also helpfully defined the look of a fat nerd with dyed hair and dressing up like the world's shittiest drag queen. They proudly used to call themselves troon but as time passed and the term became a pejorative term specifically because Something Sensitive helped ensure the world know what a troon actually is. So now, if you use the Troon term on SA, you are on very thin ice if not outright banned.
