From which site does "troon culture" mostly originate?

I'm gonna go with yahoo chat. There's probably a decent chuck of the troon generation that got their start pretending to be girls in chatrooms back when cybersex was invented. Also playing female characters in RPGs. And I'm gonna throw in Newgrounds too, just on a vague hunch, because there was a lot of weird stuff on there.

Going to say Something Awful, with outposts elsewhere. SA is what started the online "nerd" culture, and it seemed to be the earliest place to normalize autogynephilia among said nerds.

Site? Reddit. But widen the question to which Internet service? 100% it's Discord.

That shit requires group-wide denial of basic reality, suppression of dissenting voices, and isolation of targets since it falls apart rapidly in the face of basic truth or just a touch of sunlight. You need a place to gather that allows for the creation of little fiefdoms where such a culture can be fostered unopposed and unnoticed. Discord in particular is absolutely perfect for it, but Reddit's janny system is also quite ideal.

Even Reddit really depends on Discord to have grown into the festering pit it has become today, because Discord is where mod coordination and consensus is attained. Same with 4chan culture, if you could call it that nowadays: It's set in the shadows of shitty little discord servers dotted here and there. Coordination in those servers results in action out on the public web that appears, to someone not part of the inner, to be uncoordinated.
