It was simply yet another attempt by the posters there to come off as edgy and as off-putting as possible to keep normies/tourists out of the thread back when all the popular modders at the time would, with different degrees of success, lurk/post in the threads. This is the general that, under the same intention, thought suggesting Daisy's Destruction in any capacity was a "good idea" after all, so it is easy to tell that general suffered of a large percentage of underage posters back then and likely still suffers of it to this day.

Alongside the /v/-tan Mod it might as well have been the holy grail of /funkg/ ideas coming to life.​

I am glad the mod ended up becoming real in some form. Grandpa death was meant to be packaged with the /v/ mod but fell through: jacketanon (musician) vanished, and /v/anon (artist and coder) moved on to drawing other stuff. Grandpa Death is made by a completely different person, and is still a very well-made mod.
Also the “Furnace Whitty” mod, a reimagining of the classic mod using a design made by the /v/anon, got an overhaul around the same time as grandpa death released, finally getting the third song completed:

Especially at the time, the /funkg/ users were at odds with the wider crowd. They treat thinking men aren’t women and saying “nigga” with equivalent punishment to acting perverted to kids, they’re not a good crowd in the slightest. Around the time the /v/ mod was popular, obvious outsiders unaccustomed to how the site works ended up posting funkin-related content to places it did not belong

4 whole years. The release version, with not all of the full weeks, was reported as “over 50% complete” around a year ago in terms of art and music, but not coding.
Updates have been buggy and barely impressive compared to what modders have done with the game. The programmers are shown to be the least competent out of the whole bunch, KadeDev was right the whole time.
Every update so far has been remixes, except the new week(end) with weird music and a nigger making burp and “chud” noises. Despite the negative feedback since it got leaked, the creators refuse to make it better.
The recent update a couple of days ago was high-quality, but it was just remixes. At this rate, I don’t know how they’re planning on having several remixes of each song (one for each “dipshit”, along with erect versions).

Mostly correct, the game is in a demo state, with only chapter 1 released. Dream BBQ has also suffered from scope creep, originally it was intended as a small game.
In the previous post there’s something I neglected to mention: in a trailer they mentioned future planned demo updates. This consists of:
Week 9, Weekend 2, Weekend 3, “MADNESS”, Sex Update, Mobile Version (most likely the highest-priority), Dearest’s Dungeon, Playable Character (presumably remixes for Tank Man), Network, Custom Character (most likely the in-game character creator)
