I view Fred the same I view Kevin Spacey. I liked his stuff. I watched a lot of his content but fuck me, he was a cunt behind the scenes.

You don't wish for people like that to come back.

Don't know why there are people who want him back, it was good while it lasted but its done.

Fred accidentally flashed his desktop display during the #honeydicked podcast. Uses whitemode like a pleb, but also apparently is or at one point was in a /pol/ server. Really makes you think.

I wonder if he's receded into total hermitage, and only talks to people who handle his food and money (if that). Or has moved on to another community somewhere. His Discord account hasn't changed its name or avatar. So maybe not.

One-off special event servers, I think. Fred and I traded DMs once sometime before he fled the scene, but we aren't Discord friends and we aren't in any servers together. So unfortunately I can't see his online status. It might be worth asking @FedoraManManMan, @BSV, or maybe @KingjadVCMP if they share servers with him and can attest to whether FF went dark all at once on all platforms... except Destiny 2.

I've decided to reopen the Fred Fuchs files.

Based upon the pictures I uncovered I think a lot of the stuff about "rich parents" to be proven as completely false. In particular there is enough evidence to suggest Fred waited weeks/months to take advantage of discounts of as little as $30.

As the PC/lounge room pictures also prove, Fred Fuchs did not create a pseudonym with popularity in mind. He created and used the Fred Fuchs name prior to ever making a video or becoming a "detractor" by at least a full year.

The importance of establishing that the Fred Fuchs persona was used prior to SoK clearly proves that there were no puppet strings operated by a puppeteer, he just chose a very common username based upon an AVGN meme thus making most of the trail impossible to follow. This means that he likely never planned or expected to become relatively popular nor would he have been able to foresee that the SoK would ever implode, meaning he probably told the truth most of the time (probably more so in the beginning and less towards the end).

Two names were mentioned very early on in this saga based upon him at least being mostly truthful: James & Ian.
For the sake of this being speculative I'm not gonna include full names.

James (JCR) turns up almost no conclusive results.
Ian (IMF) turns up almost no conclusive results (besides some 40 year old).

During my digging, I did however find two things of interest.

IMF:
Now, a couple of weeks ago Vidar got extremely mad at me over the Kimberlie Brink saga and posted a picture that he was "sure" was me (because I'm Fred Fuchs). At the time I didn't know where the picture originated from, but I found it. It's from IMF's Myspace page:

Now IMF did technically study Political Science, and was an initiate into "Phi Beta Kappa":
