I still maintain that Tevin does some weird DSP like shit (banning criticism from his chat is one). I don't know some of the other members antics as well as you do. They usually repeat though they all fucked up and that they know people will be slow to accept them again.

This is also a possible explanation for how a lot of members were silent. If you've ever seen some psych experiments, one really stands out to me. A group of students that were told to vote as a group on the shape they all thought fit the thing they were observing. They'd bring in one student and without his knowledge, he'd be in a group full of participants that were in on the experiment. The results were amusing, because the student on camera clearly was confused but went along with deciding that things like a straight line are instead a cube because the group told him to just go with their answer.

No one likes being that guy who gets singled out. Each time people were booted, they probably thought to themselves that they didn't want to be that guy. They still cared for that SoK group at the time. Take that for what you will.
 
Knowing when to go against the group is a basic part of being an individual, its something most people learn in their early 20's. "Group psychology" doesn't change whether what someone did was right or not, and while it may be a reason its not an excuse. Anyone of them couldve leaked a screenshot and ended this years ago, but they didnt. They were all as high on being e celebs as fred was.

Nope, honestly, I do not. It usually happened during fighting game streams though.

To address Odie's concerns that this is basic human decency or instincts to resist the fucked up thing that group did.


I maintain that ordinary individuals that are usually well meaning can do very vile shit under the guidance of an authority figure, especially to conform to the group they want to belong in.

Well, seems my many suspicions of Fred being slime were right after all. I'm a somewhat casual DSP watcher and readily admit I don't support every decision Phil has done (see Rambo/Howard situation) , but these leaks have proven that Fred's been on a way higher pedestal then Phil's ever been....a pedestal that it seems he's desperate to cling onto with what non-existent respect he has left. I have much respect for Che and all the other SoK who have admitted their involvement in all the misdeeds that have been going on behind the scenes, and while it may take some time for you to be forgiven, I feel this is a good first step. Lord knows it took a lot of courage for you to come out and speak in the first place.

I have no hard feelings towards any of you because to be honest...why should I bother? It's not a concern of mine and it'd be a waste of time for me to condemn you any further then you highly likely already have been. I wish you the best in whatever you decide to do next with your lives....hopefully not something of this scale again.

Oh im not arguing that, im just arguing its not a good enough excuse, and if they fell to it once they'll fall to it again. Talk is cheap, it takes more than a bulletpoint apology to repent.

And I maintain that ordinary people are vulnerable to this scenario. They did despicable shit. What was supposed to be a group in it for the LULs on dsp morphed into a super "we are the authority on anti-dsp" community the second Fred took over. He's the one that encouraged the behaviours and socially admonished people that weren't on board. Listening to how Che's been on blast for being on leave for a few months to mourn his deceased girlfriend, only to have Fred go to each member and convince them he's a "faggot" that's off doing homo things makes me think it was some sort of cult leader bullshit. No one wants to be kicked out in such a fashion like that. Each kicking probably served as a reminder to the remaining people that could have happened to them too.

It's not necessarily the people who were part of SOK, posting heartfelt apologies and such, although the timing of most of the apologies coming JUST as the leaks got more wide spread and post Tevin video and not before it is pretty suspicious, I'm pretty sure a lot of them such as Radrad genuinely didn't know what was going on behind the scenes, or they did know Fred was an asshole and on a power trip but didn't know he was truly THAT bad. I'm more talking about people like BeAwesomeOne who's on the front page of the thread sperging out in people's DMs about the whole thing and taking part in most of the shit and doing stuff like the copyright strikes then going on twitter like "Oh it wasn't me it wasn't me it wasn't me" until he got caught out. Now he's retweeting Fred door memes trying to fit in.

I think that yeah they should be forgiven and everyone moves on and Fred should be target number 1 but they're on stream and shit doing a SoK style stream but it's Fred this time, mocking some of his quotes and acting like they didn't do anything.

Edit: Oh yeah and Evilaj doing the same "I'm done with SoK" retweets but still zero twitlonger for him or apology or anything.

Absolutely. It's hard to articulate if you've never been part of such a thing, especially if it forms slowly. I was a grown ass adult and found myself in a similar situation a few years back--the whole thing eventually exploded and it taught me a few good lessons like "don't take things too seriously" and "if someone says they're bored when there isn't drama going on, you should probably ghost them." Hopefully the former SoK members are learning similar things. And as far as the more joyous celebrations go, well, yeah? That's gonna happen when a group of people suddenly realise that everyone else had the same stuff happening to them, and that they can finally talk about it in public.

I think very few people think that the SoK isn't dead, though.

The King of Pol references are because this HMG recording was from the night after Pol and I created his original "Fred egged me on to go after TXT" video and it was on YouTube for only a few hours overnight...which Fred saw it within an hour of being live. The video was re-uploaded a few days later.
"Don't even say his name because of what he did to us" is a good quote from El Presidente.
 
Just thought of something; when the SOK was enduring sammy, specifically the one-and-done podcast exposing them, sammy said 'at least they know what each other look like' in regards to some dsp fans, to which fred stated that there HAD been a private call where the members showed themselves to each other.

Now was that bullshit and there was no private face reveal call or can any ex-sok lurking confirm having seen fred's face? Sorry if that's already mentioned somewhere in the thread.

I can't remember which member mentioned it (sorry) on stream but apparently Fred didn't want to do it and instead changed his profile picture on Skype to his 'real' face for a few minutes

I think that's what was said but if there is an ex-sok member reading maybe they can confirm it

yet I played it for everyone on livestream and it doesnt sound anything like what Fred made it out to be. Fucking piece of shit
