This is the same pit crew that managed to completely fuck up George's pit stop at Sakhir last year. And people wonder how/why conspiracy theories start...

TBH I didn't watch because I figured the race would be as boring as batshit. Seeing Hambone at 7th makes me nearly as happy as seeing Carlos and Lando on the podium. The only things that would've pleased me more is seeing Bottas get a fair go and seeing Stroll finish ahead of Hambone.

It was a boring car parade as Monaco always is, but if you like watching M-B eat a giant helping of humble pie, it was an enjoyable car parade.

I feel really bad for Leclerc though.

Monaco makes it obvious that F1 needs more strategic flexibility, be that free tyre selection for everyone or refueling.
The two most interesting moments were the pitstops of Vettel and Perez and how they managed to overcut the competition. Those moments were brilliant, especially since it was a split second situation with Vettel, just a few tenths of a second and he'd ended up behind Gasly or even Hamilton.

We need more of that and we need more organic (nin-DRS) overtaking, so there's action on the track and suspense in terms of strategy... and I think making the cars smaller and more nimble would be a very good step towards that direction.

It took F1 a while, but at least a few things got shaken up so a few other people get a chance to drive top teams. Leclerc and Sainz, Lando Norris, Perez, I am glad the grid is the way it is right now.

Someone's been having fun with the super aweful direction of this GP:

And since it never gets old:

You know the directors made a shitty job when I watch a "top 10" video 2 days after the race before I learn that Stroll had a genuinely nice battle with some Alpine driver exiting the pitlane.
FFS the guy choosing camera-angles must have been drunk as fuck.

Someone else calling out Lewis' "it was all the teams fault boohoo, poor me" act.

Of course the comments section is butthurt as fuck that someone dare say something negative about sir hambone.

Hamilton is the most humble of drivers, never taking all the credit himself at all.
SmartSelect_20210525-181133_Chrome.jpg

He didn't win anything in F1 so what does he know? Yeah he won some stuff but that was all down to the team (unlike hambone of course who does it all alone).

Why does the Dutch media love Max and have all these know nothing fake fans turn up? Nothing like Hamilton and the UK media/fake fans of course.
SmartSelect_20210525-182124_Chrome.jpg

Good point, why did they need that in there?
SmartSelect_20210525-181240_Chrome.jpg

Muh racism

SmartSelect_20210525-182514_Chrome.jpg

Dutch media favours Max over Lewis, how could that possibly be?
SmartSelect_20210525-182440_Chrome.jpg

Ride (the black dick) like the wind is really triggered by this questioning of hambone's character.

Doesn't know the sport though, seems to think the stop is mandated at a certain lap or something.
SmartSelect_20210525-182641_Chrome.jpg

But muh Max.
SmartSelect_20210525-182801_Chrome.jpg

The mercades totally weren't the best car in 2017/18 (ignore the wcc points gap).
SmartSelect_20210525-182902_Chrome.jpg

Ree fake fan, no way hambone could put anyone off with his douchebaggery.

Wahh the haters

These former F1 drivers who now work in F1 media don't know anything about the sport, lewlew just destroys their ego.
SmartSelect_20210525-183147_Chrome.jpg

It was all Monaco to blame anyway.
SmartSelect_20210525-183229_Chrome.jpg

But Max says naughty words.

Lammers drove in a time where a slight misjudgement during an overtake or even just regular driving could mean you horribly burn to death. And still he raced.

Anyone racing before the 2000s is a badass and anyone racing before the 80s has complete freedom to put any driver down - especially when it's for something like the supposed GOAT 7 time world champion moping and throwing a hissyfit, blaming anyone but his own shitty driving, instead of going "Yeah right, I drive the best fucking car in the world with the best fucking team of engineers literally walking me through every single fucking flip of a button... I will easily win this championship, so let my competition have that one day in the sun."

Say what you want about some of the unfair shit Schumacher and other drivers of bygone eras pulled, at least they got balls.
It might be unsportsmanlike as fuck and I don't approve of it, but at least it's not whining and blaming a team that is doing an absolutely stellar job 99% of the time for not magicking away Hamilton's bad performance during qualifying.

Hamilton salt is not a compelling flavor.
It will become an aquired taste by the time he loses out on the guaranteed championship title at some point in the hopefully not too distant future.

Also:
Hamilton:
>best driver in the world
>doesn't know the chicanes by number on one of F1's most iconic racetracks

top fucking kek.

Aston Martin shareholders pissy about executive bonuses and lack of women on the board.

It feels more like some minor shareholder/advisor being bitter Stroll cleared house and using muh hot button issue to lead a (failed) rebellion.

Hopefully all the bullshit doesn't translate into a poor 22 car.

Dude bails out the fucking company, dude can staff the entire fucking board with trained Chihuahuas for all I care.

Seems like a rather petty grievance someone raised and I can only hope that Stroll gives zero fucks about it.
It's laughable when the SJW brigade threatens to boycott some low-tier consoomer media company... it's outright insane to imagine more than maybe 1% of the fuckers that will care about the number of womyn on the board can actually afford an Aston Martin. And frankly, those that can, will bitch on Twitter and buy an AM anyway, if it's enough of a status symbol.
Ideals and convictions are for plebeians after all, the particians just chant the right slogans and then are allowed to do whatever they can. Chanting slogans is their way to aquire indulgence of the Church of Outrage.

Something happened that impacted King Lewis, have to change the rules. I'm suprised they didn't include a clause that in that scenario whoever comes 7th gets pole.

I will laugh so hard if the FIA rules RedBull's wing fine but finds merc are breaking the rules.

Dude legit and very obviously crashed and could not participate in the race due to Ferrari being careless.
This is the definition of "solution in need of a problem". The idea in itself isn't bad, but fuck me, bringing up now is totally unwarranted. Do it, when someone blatantly and very conveniently parks his car in a runoff area to stall Qualifying.

FIA is unlikely to favor anyone unless their name starts with L and ends with ewis Hamilton.

I was about to say they did ban DAS, but then again, they did ban it, before other teams could adopt it.

Exactly this, they banned anyone else developing it and let Merc have it for the rest of the season. Meanwhile they're telling RedBull to totally redesign their rear wing in a month when most teams are ploughing the bulk of their design resources into the 22 car. I fully expect Merc to dominate totally again after the Azerbaijan GP.

My obligatory derail for other race series. 105th running of the Indianapolis 500 is today. Starting at 11am local to the track (4PM BST), as well as the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte which is at 6PM local to the track (11PM BST). For those in the UK I know that Indy will be on Sky Sports F1, Australians it's available through Kayo I am told, and haven't got a clue elsewhere; and for NASCAR I know it's on FOX in the US and bugger knows where it is elsewhere. I will probably watch both races and down two pints every caution. Wish me luck.

Edit: Additionally, unfortunately there was a death this weekend in Moto3. Jason Dupasquier died after a fall at Mugello where he was run over by other riders - unavoidable, it was not a pleasant sight to watch live. Link to MotoGP's tweet announcing his death.
