Soon enough they'll be driving shitboxes slower than Nascar cars
arent they already?
but at least they would be able to go flat out.
no, this still wont fix the issue of super clipping on long straights.

what a fucking joke. the one and only thing these dogshit cars are decent at is taking corners quickly (provided the erratic recuperation during braking doesnt fuck the driver over). lets take that away, its making the fucking battery shit look even worse than we expected! the cars are somewhat faster than f2 cars thanks to the cornering performance, we cant have that

heads should be rolling at the fia

What's with their crusade against downforce? Every fucking year they are reducing it and are talking about reducing it even further the next year.
I want to see cars going 220 mph through chicanes and hair pin turns until a driver's neck snaps. We have GT3 for amazing, mechanical grip limited racing. Fucking F1 leadership should neck themselves and let people with love for engineering and racing helm the sport.

What are peoples thoughts on the cars and changes in the last six weeks?
Saw some of the super clipping footage this morning. At one point Kimi was flat out and the car dropped 36 km/h as soon as the battery started harvesting.

It always makes me pissed when one of F1's awful nu-street circuits puts on an entertaining race. I won't say good, because you can't have a good race with these regs.
Confirmed: They're ditching the 50/50 ICE/electrical split for next year in favor of a 60/40 split. Admittance of the shitshow they've created.
That's a good start. It's still not enough. We'll probably still see slowdowns to recharge. The EU dying on the hill of electric cars is something I'll never understand, especially since biofuels already exist.

I actually am happy that Kimi is leading the series right now. It's impressive how young he is and he's not been at Mercedes long enough to develop into a whiny douchebag like everyone who drives for them ends up becoming.

Full disclosure: I'm on the pirate train. I hope Liberty enjoys losing half their casual viewers due to streaming exclusivity. What a joke.

Still not a great look for them. It tells you that there's a quantifiable ratio where the racing is gay as fuck and the FIA will demand the regs be as close to that boundary as humanely possible without going over. If 1 is doing nothing, and 10 is forcing naturally aspirated V10s within 2 years, the current proposal is a 2.5.

Saw this video floating around that uses an interaction between Piastri and Leclerc in Miami to further demostrate how bad the cars are. You can drive perfectly and still end up behind someone with multiple fuckups because said fuckups allowed them to charge more battery. You can't even really defend because the speed differential would result in constant crashes which the Miami rule changes were supposed to address (Bearman crashing around Colapinto in Japan). I wonder if this is what Fernando meant when he said his chef could drive the car.

No offense to Kimi or whoever the eventual 2026 WDC will be, but this year's championship will have a big fat asterisk next to it on account of this battery fuckery.
I've been saying that for a while now.

I feel bad for Kimi. The kid's a good driver, and I think if he wins WDC, no matter what, I don't think a lot of people will roll their eyes about it the way they did with Lando. But I think it's objectively correct that to a lot of people, this year really isn't a good gauge of how good a driver is. You talk about all of the greats and while we talk about things like tyre management, I don't think "battery management" is going to be a great indicator of skill as a driver, even tactically, as in the example that @ForTheHoard gave.

If a driver feels like there's nothing he can do in a situation because his battery conks out, there comes a point when you have to say that we don't even care about drivers anymore.
