Man what the fuck is this.
They are driving on their tiptoes, they look like they are driving in the fucking rain, the cars sound like they are on half power on the off laps.
What the fuck they've done?
:lossmanjack: (:_(

They took out all the fun and excitement out of the fast chicane. One of the coolest segments on any track and they have to lift half a mile before it, and then just coast through it.

I don't know how is it for other language comentators but it's interesting:
  • No criticism whatsoever of the regulations, no mention even of the superclipping
  • No mention of batteries as cause for the reliability issues
  • Cameras cutting off when there's super clipping and the cars start to slow down
They can't hide this shit, it's going to be a disaster, i'm going to watch the concordification of F1 with you guys.
:story:

Mercedes are the team to beat. Impressive recovery by Kimi. Isack is pretty amazing to grab that third. Really hoping for better from Oscar :(

@AN/ALR56 F1 commentary has been pretty open about it.
Here they only mentioned clipping and the battery at the last Russel lap when the battery level appeared onscreen.
I think they are concerned about not criticizing the sport or the regulations because it's a brand new broadcaster who paid around 250 million dollars for it, and went actually into debt buying up all the sport crap because youtube is taking over tv in ratings and they are panicking and buying shit to solve it.

Imagine if this regs make f1 flop in ratings when they just got billions in licensing rights and new engines manufacturers and new sponsors.

This is shit, this is not motor racing, it's like playing NFS Underground 2, use your NOS, do something to recharge your NOS, use your NOS again. Max said it's going to be bad but I didn't expected to be this bad.

And this is Melbourne. Now imagine Spa or Monza. Monza is mostly pedal to the metal but with this gen of regulations? Oh dear oh dear.

To the rersult itself: that was a bit unexpected, I didn't think the gap would be THIS big. And Hamilton might feel a bit dejected despite the small gap to Leclerc. Close to 2 tenths but 3 places behind. That podium might be just outsaide of reach (I bet I will eat these words later down the season)

Audi surprising me a lot.
I think all of the teams knew what a shitshow these new regs would be ahead of the season.
And Audi realized, that all they had to do, to stand out, was to be consistent.
You don't need the fastest car or the fanciest design, just a car that works.
And you don't need the greatest driver of all time, just Hulk. An experienced guy who won' t wreck your car all every week.
I think their gamble is gonna pay off big tomorrow.

And they got Bortoleto, back to back f3-f2 champion, and the dude's agent/mentor/ is Fernando Alonso and according to both the hulk and himself in interviews, their relationship is excellent.

I honestly expect at least a couple podiums for them this season, even if borne out of surviving the attrition.
