I’m being somewhat facetious, but I’m implying that the government has some control over where cartels do their business and how despite how chaotic things appear.
As far as I know, the cartels take great effort in not harming outsiders (like tourists) because that gets them super unwanted attention
There's stories of cartel members executing rogues in an attempt to make amends for misdeeds against tourists
I reckon that's the same rationale for F1 not being interfered with

The fantasy league is up and running again.
I sorted the selections by least picked because schadenfreude

Stroll showing he's just a waste of $8m
Very little interest in the McLaren drivers surprisingly, ouch

Funny how Aston is using the Newey + Honda formula Red Bull had for a while but ended up with a flaky tractor no one believes in.

al-Merqaedes seething

In other news, while it was first reported that, in Australia, the pitlane speed limit would be lowered to 60 kph (due to Cadillac being there, as in, 11 teams), now it's reported that "no, stalker child, it is and remains 80 kph, your stint is already over, enjoy pitstop"

Okay I think this is the link to the Fantasy League - https://fantasy.formula1.com/en/

Not the most intuitive interface and procedures for picking teams and drivers, but it is what it is.

With bonus points awarded for things like number of overtakes, just looking at the points that they accrue according to F1 rules, may change the worth of a driver or team.

Well lads! Back again for another "epic" year of Formula 1! /sneed

I didn't even watch the final race of 2025. I stupidly opened X not thinking and first post was who won title. After that no way was I going to suffer through watching it.

Amazing happenings even before the first FP1! Fucking AM. Just amazing. Spend billions to try and buy your hapless son a world title and end up being the worst team on the grid. This whole "Stroll Era" is a huge embarrassment. I have said it many times before, I will say it again, Mr. Magoo will be driving until he is 50 seeking that first win. The blatant nepotism should be outlawed. If you own a team, you can't have a relative driving for it. Its like "pay drivers" at a whole new extreme. Many good drivers deserve a seat in F1 and you have a fucking mongoloid only there due to his father's money.

Ferrari. Pretty innovative with that wing. Have that diffuser trick going and seemingly good launches off the grid. Will it all come to naught and they fuck themselves out of a win?

Merc. If Russell wins, would that be worse than last year's winner? When I checked odds a few weeks ago, he was the slight favorite over Max, then Lando 3rd. Piastri was 8-1 in 4th.

Max. He is the one out of anyone that will figure out how to maximize being neutered in the car to get the best out of it. But depending on how the season starts he could lose interest quick. He already is showing massive signs of being done with the stupid rules and regs.

As for the regs. They always manage to screw up somehow. But this engine/battery shit is pretty bad. That's what happens when you got a mudslime running the fucking sport. I won't shed a tear if the entire Mideast goes up in flames if it gets rid of the towelhead influence on the sport and the shit tracks that are there.

Thanks @Coccxys for doing the fantasy league again! 25 teams there now, so should be a more active thread for this year.

ouch
Newey: “The vibration into the chassis is causing a few reliability problems: mirrors falling off, tail lights falling off, all that sort of thing...but the much more significant problem is that the vibration is transmitted ultimately into the driver's fingers" “We are going to have to be very heavily restricted on how many laps we do in the race until we get on top of the source of the vibration.”
however, Alonso also said "Vibrations aren't our biggest problem. After a few laps, they become annoying and your hands go numb, but if we were fighting for victories, I could be driving for 3-4 hours straight."

as far as I can see, the only problem that the AMR doesn't suffer from is high mileage
