Found the answer, it's a technicality that they'll definitely change. The rule says that a car entering the pits must not cross the white line, he didn't enter the pits so was fine crossing the white line.

I suppose it makes sense because they all do it at some tracks like Brazil, but they probably need to clarify if they're substantially into the pits or something.

That kind of not in/not out ambiguity is why NASCAR implemented the little orange box on pit in which I don't think is fully needed but it makes it easier.
 
Going to be interesting. Cadillac isn't exactly a company that jumps to mind when I think racing car so should be interesting to see what they come up with. Hopefully they get decent drivers and not just meme murican drivers. Get at least one experienced driver then the other can be some rookie or pay driver. Checo might be avaliable to fulfil both of those criteria by then...

It shows there was definitely something up with the Andretti bid since that also included Cadillac, probably something to do with the boardroom politics they were embroiled in.
 
Reddit trying to shove crappy Colton herta into the cadalliac seat. I don’t get the hype around herta. Pato amd Palou are better. Plus after the de Vries debacle I don’t think teams are going to want a driver outside of the Junior program. Hell, Jak Crawford is right there for cadalliac.
 
Funniest outcome of Ferrari winning WCC this year would be that they get the least amount of windtunnel time. F1 now has rules that the higher your standing the less time for tests you get. Red Bull and Merc would get more.

True but I kinda want to see Ferrari win it so Zak Brown gets a big middle finger.

The other side of this is Audi are going to get the maximum possible development allocation ready for 2026.
 
He has acontract for 2 years atm right? If things go south he might get the boot quickly. While his sign on increased the value of thew corporation (stock price went up) if he doesn't see success (or gets curb stomped by Leclerc) it might turn into a disaster. And I doubt Vasseur will let Hamilton rule into HIS team. He is not Schumacher
 
I don't see a universe where Herta gets enough superlicense points to go to F1 anytime soon, even with his latest points finish in Indycar. He's way too inconsistent to expect a similar finish from next year.

Somehow I could see this leading to Jak Crawford (who is mediocre) ending up in that seat, which would be an incredible case of right place, right time.
 
I don't know if it's happening worldwide but currently the SQ on ESPN is fucking up and has no commentary track, just ambient. It's absolutely gl....aw fuck there fades in Crofty again.

The stat about Stroll being the most experienced Canadian driver they put up in P1 was hilarious. More experience than either Villeneuve, but what to show for it?

If they're smart they already have their scouts ready to go to florida winter series, New Zealand grand prix and regional F4 to find a few drivers they're going to fund through F3 and F2 ready for when they release their engines.

Just get a couple of experienced drivers for the first couple of seasons to help build the team and don't worry too much about results.

Perez would be a good shout because lots of money, popular among the Mexicans that America is full of. It will probably be relatively easy to get red bull to let him go.
