I don't view a non-Max WDC as an impossibility, Norris has matured a great deal as a driver and can put down a championship winning performance. But so can Sainz, Leclerc and maybe even Russel.
I hope next season all constructors will have pushed their cars to the absolute limits of current regulations with these engines. We could be in for some very exciting races :optimistic:

Norris decided to go full salty over Max winning.

Mate even without the red flag Max would have drove up to the back of you. Dude put in 17 fastest laps and was over a second a lap faster than everyone on track. Plus you threw it off the road a few times. He was 33 seconds ahead of you, that's more than a pit stop.

Don't go full bloois with this bullshit. Recognise when another driver has you beat through skill, Charles was full of praise for Max after that race, that's the correct attitude.

Even Hambone and Alonso (or at least their social media person) said it was a great drive

Even Perez's dad is trolling skyF1 over Max's win

Kind a funny side note: Russell has scored more points now then last year total while Hamilton is trailing his points despite 2 wins this year. Which makes me kind of wondering how Hamilton is fumbling ever since the summer break is over. He never beat Russell legit once (Mexico doesn't count imho as Russell's car was damaged). Can't be the car when Russell manages to show at least some speed. Is he perhaps already in "I quit" mode and saving his energy for next year?

Yes. I can’t wait until antonelli flops and Mercedes go back to pre 2014 levels minutes brawn, Niki, and Vowles

I know it's in poor taste to wish someone ill, especially one so young and with a potentially bright future ahead, but damn, would it be entertaining.

Toto already makes interesting faces on normal race days. Now, imagine his reactions when Kimi Logans it on a regular basis. His face was already pretty priceless on Kimi's first Logan. Or who knows, maybe he is the wonder child everyone hopes he would be.

Unfortunately it's probably more likely than you think. Guy is obviously talented and fast but it's too soon for a pressure F1 drive.

He's had some good F2 performances but far too many lacluster performances and mistakes to say he's ready to jump into F1. Especially into a "top" team and with the media pressure that is going to get heaped on him due to the hype.

Toto is kneejerking him into a car after what happened with Verstappen and not wanting sinilar to happen again. He should have grabbed an experienced driver on a one season deal and left Kimi to have another year in F2.

I just hope he can either come out fast and consistent or shrug off the pressure and survive the criticism that will come with not living up the hype to grow into the 2026 season. It remains to be seen if that will happen though.

And if you think about it, Bearman, Lawson and Colapinto (if he somehow gets a drive in 2025-seeing rumors of him going to RBJr or even Sainz coming back to the RB fold and Colapinto going to Williams full time) all have experience racing in F1 now, whereas Kimi has none. It will be a good barometer to see how he does compared to the more "experienced" rookies in 2025.

Doohan obviously is the other rookie next year but has no experience racing in F1. And we also have Bortoleto who is being seriously considered for Sauber next year. There is a reason why Bottas hasn't been signed yet so we could see 6 drivers in their first full season in 2025. That will be quite astonishing if it plays out. We have 4 guaranteed (I count Lawson as a rookie, any driver who has not completed a full season is a "rookie" in my view) but if Borto and Colapinto get in too almost 1/3 of the grid will be new guys. If we could get rid of Hambone and Mr. Magoo we'd have 2 more potentially too! LOL Hulk and Alonso cant have much longer, especially if in Fred's case Newey doesn't give the Jews a championship winning car.

It will be fun watching who shines and who sucks amongst the 4 (maybe 5 or even 6) new drivers next year. I wonder if any will be on the chopping block come July/August?

RE: Bortoleto, just saw this on sport.de (translated to Eng):

Mick Schumacher's big Formula 1 dream has been shattered once again. Already at the weekend, several media outlets reported that Gabriel Bortoleto would get the cockpit at Sauber/Audi. This is also true according to information from RTL expert and sport.de columnist Felix Görner.

Gabriel Bortoleto's move to the Sauber/Audi Formula 1 racing team is not yet official, "but the signs are increasing," RTL reporter Felix Görner confirmed to sport.de the rumors that quickly spread in the paddock on Sunday.

Motorsport.com initially reported on an agreement reached between Bortoleto and Sauber/Audi prior to the Brazilian Grand Prix. After a meeting in Sao Paulo, only a few details remained to be clarified, the specialist portal wrote. An announcement is expected soon. Görner can also confirm this.

"Audi's confirmation will probably be made public in a week," said the long-time Formula 1 insider.

What’s next for Mick Schumacher?

As of today, we can only speculate why Sauber/Audi ultimately decided in favor of Bortoleto and against Schumacher. The fact is that the young Brazilian has shown in the last two years in Formula 2 and Formula 3 that he has the potential for the premier class - just as Mick Schumacher once did. According to Görner, however, that is not the only thing that speaks in favor of the 20-year-old.

"Bortoleto serves an important Brazilian market. With Bortoleto and Colapinto, you have two South Americans who are important for Formula 1. That's a shame for Mick Schumacher, who had high hopes for the cockpit," explained the RTL reporter: "The fact is that Bortoleto was and is more highly valued at Audi than Mick Schumacher."

What's next for Mick? "The possibility of continuing at Alpine exists. He can then drive in Le Mans and the WEC again next year. Talks are ongoing. Perhaps we'll hear something from the Schumacher camp soon," said Görner.

The first one to go could be Lawson. Whilst he's clearly very talented, he's also a loose cannon. Given how sanitised F1 is and how expensive it is to keep fixing broken cars, if he doesn't tone down the aggression a bit, Helmut might have no choice but to dump him.

That's a good point. TBH it feels like there may be one too many Antipodean drivers on the grid next year, especially given the combined population of Australia and NZ is fewer than 35 million people. Therefore having 3 out of 20 drivers on the grid seems a little excessive for such a (relatively) small market.

Yet another reason why Lawson needs to behave himself. Unless Doohan is Sargent-tier talent or Alpine carries on like the bunch of cheese-eating surrender monkeys they are, and decide to arbitrarily dump Doohan for some Frog...

Yeah agreed on Lawson. Him and Yuki will be the new Gasly/Ocon potentially. Assuming they are closely matched and on same portion of track a fair amount.

Colapinto has potential to destroy Albon, if this possible Sainz return comes off. Or if not and Perez is still nuked, he might put Yuki to shame as the assumption is it will either be Lawson/Sainz if Perez is yeeted. Bearman has the Ferrari backing so unless he is a horror show he should be able to survive. Kimi should do ok given he should have the best car out of all the rookies. Doohan, I have no idea what to expect out of him. I don't expect too much, but one never knows. Bortoleto, while good in F2, is an unknown quantity really. Being in the Sauber won't be beneficial, but if he can give Hulk a good run for his money that will be promising.
