Oh man the faggotry extends to this place too. "Oh noes another driver dared to take the fastest lap, how dare they?" Easy, it's a fucking sport and you do whatever is legally open to you to win. Of course you take the fastest lap point away from them if you can.
Like I said, if it had been Max or Checo I'd have no issue with it. Using another team to do it is just faggotry.

Plus all that is assuming you belive the dumb ass conspiracy theory it was some order to VCARB as opposed to a way for Daniel to see out his career with one final achievement, which is far more likely.
You see it that way. I see it as going out as Max's bitch before being unceremoniously shitcanned for all the world to see. Whether it was Horner on the phone or not has no bearing on this.

Red Bull derangement syndrome is ruining the sport.
Right, any opinion that might be somewhat negative towards Red Bull is derangement syndrome and ruining the sport. This is #TeamLH levels of delusion.

And it's official now

As expected but Lawson hasn't been given a '25 contract, just the remainder of this season. I wonder if there is a route back in for ole Ricc (I mean no, Lawson will bend Yuki over, get the drive and lead that team until they get sick of Carlos Slim money...).

It's been a while since we had a 23 driver championship.

I've had quite the flip on Danny in the past year. While I'm all for a dude having fun while being an F1 driver, he seemed to be more about the fun than his, shall we say, craft. Almost nobody gets to go back to F1 these days, I think it's necessary to take such an opportunity seriously.

Also he said 'plz no indycar uwu oval too fast' which is weak.

Yeah same thought popped in my head. You'd expect if they are announcing Ric's sacking then they would name Lawson as his replacement and also indicate he will be their 2025 driver. Admittedly I just looked at X for 2 minutes so those announcements might have been made, but I didn't see them. I also assume this isn't a "test" for Lawson and if he pulls a Hartley or DeVries, he won't be in for 2025. The talk seemed to say he had to get a 2025 drive or he would no longer be RB goods.

Also as you said, if Perez does shit for rest of season (he's already lost them the WCC) maybe they will turf him and bring in one of the 2 VCARB drivers, or bring Ric back only to turf him again end of 2025 when Lawson shows he should be partnering Max.

Although I don't rate him highly, their F2 driver Isack Hadjar has a shot at that title this year (if he wins I expect he will be another Drugovitch and won't get an F1 drive soon, if ever). Hadjar was leading F2 for most of season but the McL junior Bortoleto has looked great and now leads by a few points. Borto also being rumoured as a possible slot in at Sauber over Bottas. Do we need another rookie next year?? YES!

Fun times ahead!

I like Daniel but.. about fuckin time
It feels like he was "lucky" to get injured in the Dutch GP after replacing de vries. It meant he had limited races to show himself as washed up, if he was in right from then I doubt he'd have been in the car this year. Nice guy but his career dies the day he left RBR the first time (and arguably earlier since he left because Max was the future of that team).

He just wasn't going back to RBR no matter how much copium his fans drank. Nothing in his recent performance suggests he is better than (a poor) Checo right now. Then even if he did Max would be raping him every session (like with checo).

Admittedly I just looked at X for 2 minutes so those announcements might have been made, but I didn't see them.
That's because there hasn't been any. He has been confirmed as their driver for the rest of the season then they'll assess their options for next season before deciding.

It's a pity Ricc is out, I think he would have done better than Perez in the RedBull.

They should have announced it before the Singapore GP, give the man a proper send-off ffs

Danny showed himself as washed at McLaren. They paid him what, 15 million to sit at home and not race for a season? Mystifying why Red Bull brought him back honestly.
Yeah McLaren paid a huge amount to sit it out because they gave Oscar his seat as a much better offer than Alpine. In the end it ended up paying off for Zak and McLaren as a whole as Daniel was never consistent as Carlos and caused McLaren to drop down the wcc.

I could understand redbull taking him back as a pr and demo driving person like coulthard. But putting him in a development seat when Liam was waiting was insane and even with that opportunity Yuki of all people is almost doubling his points.

Whilst this is highly unlikely, I'd like to see Ricc come home and start racing Supercars. He could make a handy co-driver at the 2025 Bathurst 1000. It'd give SC a PR boost, even though it's a dying series... I guess years of mismanagement, escalating costs and no more Ford vs Holden rivalry on account of the latter being killed by GM will do that.

It's fully over for Ricc, they have appointed Hadjar the reserve driver after Lawson has stepped up to full driver. So Dani isn't even getting the reserve job.

ETA: there's lots of rumours flying around about Perez retiring at end of 2024. If that's the case then it's Yuki vs Lawson for that seat (maybe explains why Lawson isn't confirmed as a VCARB driver for 2025), and potentially Hadjar into VCARB. Get another rookie in.

Though the same journo reckons Piastri to RBR and Bortaleto into McLaren so probably a whole load of making up shit for clicks.

Time for the annual "Perez announces retirement at the Mexican GP" stories I see, though this time they've managed to outlarp it with Piastri to RBR? I'd like to see the salary that'd make him drop McLaren as it is right now to go to >A FUCKING ENERGY DRINK as they are right now. Maybe it has some truth to it with Max's statements that he would rather kill himself than be a no.2 driver?

Renault have officially cucked out.

What a joke.

There are three constants in life; death, taxes and Renault (Honda also) pulling out of F1 and I'm not sure about the first 2...

No pics, no mention of how he is, etc. Only interesting things are Gina is married, Mick might be getting married and Ralf is distanced from Schumi and Corina.
