Sucks to be Russell right now, car's 1.5kg underweight. I'm sure the cult poo-pooing Merc for not one stopping Lewis will be all over them for the more basic error... RDT_20240728_1711456736027257267175614.png

Unfortunately no more seethe. They're all busy going "see Hamilton would have easily won if George's car was legal".

Also a few claims of George or the team deliberately cheating to rob king lewlew. The conspiracy theories have gone nuts since lewlew is leaving.

Russell disqualified. Handed to lewlew.

It is being suggested it is a result of the 1 stop. They hadn't accounted for the extra loss of weight from the tyres by running them that long.

Both Toto and Horner are supporting that theory when asked. Toto saying they screwed up by not considering that prior to making the call, Horner saying 1.5 kg is consistent with what they would expect for the extra laps.

The car was heavy enough with fuel, once they drained it there wasn't enough weight.

Again Lando's subpar racecraft on the start screwed the entire race, and then stuck in dirty air the rest of the race unable to advance. Was interesting after Oscar's pit stop he was 6.3s behind Hamilton and dropped a second a lap until he was in dirty air.

Thankfully Perez remembered who he was again and tumbled down the order leading to some decent points and McLaren closing up to RedBull Racing..

I don't know how much weight could have been gained by doing it, but as they turn right into the pits after turn 1 when race ends, George had no opportunity to pick up discarded rubber by doing a full post race in-lap.

I doubt anyone knows how much weight the extra rubber that would accumulate on 4 tires on an in-lap would amount to. Be interesting to know if it would have taken him over the minimum weight threshold though. Either way, he showed by his strategy and call that he is miles above the nigger when it comes to how to effectively win a race.

Also the moaning on why there isn't any team orders and they should have let Lewis past. Why? The spook is fucking off at end of year so why bend over more for him when he signaled he was disenchanted with the Merc team and their future prospects. The nigger lovers are fucking retarded, no clue about anything when it comes to racing on a whole. Have to find any reason, no matter how asinine, to explain why Hamilton was screwed out of a win or podium.

However Merc definitely swinging things around with 3 wins in last 4 races. RB in big trouble now for the WCC and their only hope is that the teams chasing them take points off each other as the rest of the season goes on. But now with Max having tough time securing 25 points to ward off the other teams 2 drivers scoring good points, I think the writing is on the wall for Checo. He went from 2nd to 7th this race. So even if he Qs well, he still isn't maximizing points in the race.

We are on summer break now and will see what goes down over next few weeks. Carlos' only real option is now to go to Williams. Alpine and Sauber both look like bad moves given turmoil in both orgs. I doubt Merc will take him as Antonelli looking a bit better last couple F2 races and pretty sure due to the disharmony between the fathers, he won't get to replace Checo at RB to partner Max. Speaking of RB, McLaren is only 42 points behind, Fer 63 in the WCC standings. Another McL 1-2 next race and Max and Checo pointless puts McL on top. So, with 10+ races to go, looking pretty shaky for them, and while Max prob will still win the WDC, as a team RB wants to win the Constructors. So, some decisions might need to be made.

I remember when Lewis was leading the team were instructing him to lift and coast, so I’m kinda gobsmacked they didn’t do the same to Russell or at least knew lewis’s car was going to be seriously under weight(cough run out of a fuel) without a safety car let alone a one stop.

Speaking of with fuel out he was under weight would the top three have been checked or is it random spot checked empty because would of Lewis been the same like the plank wear in Austin he was DQ from unlike Russell.

Totally different issues. You are required to provide a 1 L fuel sample at the end of the race but the weight is taken with and without fluids.

Russell had 2.8 L in the tank (so could have gone harder), with fluids the car was heavy enough, once drained it was not (so there was no performance gain by being underweight because the extra fuel was acting as balast).

The issue was tyre wear and not having an in lap to pick up rubber. It was 1.5 kg underweight, across 4 tyres that's only 375 g per tyre. A full set of F1 tyres (without rims) is 42 kg. So the weight under is only 3.6% of the weight of the tyres, that would have been easy to pick up if there was a cool down lap.

I get the feeling this would be the case often with cars on long stints or high deg circuits if they didn't have the extra lap to pick up a bit of weight on their tyres.

Very likely the end of perez shitting up the red bull.

Plus there is the VCARB driver test on Wednesday with Ricciardo, Tsunoda, Lawson, and Iawasa driving the 2022 AT car.

Williams Racing today announces that Carlos Sainz will complete the team’s driver line-up for the 2025 FIA Formula 1 World Championship season and beyond.

With a decade of F1 competition under his belt, Sainz will join Williams from Scuderia Ferrari on a two-year agreement with options to extend. In his Formula 1 career to date, the 29-year-old Spaniard has achieved three race victories, 23 podiums, over 1,100 career points and is currently sitting fifth in this season’s Drivers’ Championship. After becoming the only non-Red Bull Racing driver to achieve a race victory in 2023, Sainz most recently took victory at this year’s Australian Grand Prix, just ten days after surgery for appendicitis, and has scored four further podiums so far this season.

Carlos will race alongside Alex Albon for Williams Racing for 2025 and into the new F1 regulations era as the formidable pairing look to spearhead the team’s mission to return to the front of the grid. He will continue to race using number 55.

Williams Racing would also like to thank Logan Sargeant for his hard work and dedication over the past two years. As a graduate of the Williams Driver Academy, Logan became the first US driver to score a point for 30 years when he finished 10th in Austin last year, and has played a fundamental role in developing the team. Williams will give Logan every support as he looks to continue his racing career for 2025 and beyond.

Placeholder for Antonelli if he is not ready for F1.

Bottas is a safe number 2. I don't rate highly, he is not a fighter, and he is the F1 driver equivalent of erectile dysfunction. But mercedes don't have a better option than him.
Forgeting mick surname , Vettelel or even nick de vries for the comeback of the century.

Antonelli, Verstappen or bust for toto

nick de vries for the comeback of the century.
De Vries was just one of Toto's sabotage of other teams. He often gets meh drivers, PRs them to the moon and manages to place them in other teams stupid eniugh to take them. It upsets their development of the car and future drivers all while making Toto money as their manager.

He had ample opportunity to put him in a Williams or Merc all while he took other drivers and carried on with the Nyck PR campaign. He's not stupid enough to ever sign them to a team he's actually got some stake in.

I thought they were all in on Antonelli? Would be real kino if that guy turns out to be debris 2.0.

He must have some really impressive simulator times or something because his F2 performance to date shouts good but not ready for F1. Yeah he had the good time when testing and old spec merc but plenty of drivers have managed that then turned out to be a dud when it comes to it. Hell, Scott Speed got his drive as a result of the times in testing with an old F1 car, where's he now?

He could be a future star but he needs more time to develop in F2. His flash through the junior series has stalled out and throwing him right into F1 is a recipe for a destroyed career before it even starts.

Drugo is on an Aston contract though so daddy stroll would want a few quid to let him go. There's little chance of him getting a drive at that team so he'd probably go for it if offered.
