I don't get why Haas would go for Ocon. Or any team for that matter. Yeah, he won a race but that was the Bottas bowling ball one right? So, he wouldn't have won under normal circumstances, much like Gasly's win. Sure they won, but if the calamities didn't happen in their respective races, they wouldn't have.
Mainly tho, Ocon has been shown to be a hothead, has bad spatial awareness or just a cunt. Maybe all 3. There are so many drivers out there that would slot in better than him, so kind of baffling. He doesn't bring sponsorship money does he? I would like to hear Haas' reasoning for choosing him over others, but of course they will never tell if directly asked why take him over XXXX. They already had KMag who some would consider "reckless" like Ocon, but at least KMag proved he is a team player. I doubt Ocon would do same in similar circumstances. Just weird "logic" (or lack of) in signing him, and a bad move too.
Also, pretty sure I saw a headline a week or so ago (didn't read the article) that it does indeed like Renault is not going to do engines and Alpine will go with Merc. If so, then that would mean half the field will be Merc powered. Surely that won't be the case? Am I forgetting that a team (maybe AM) is getting a new provider?
Let's hope for a good Spa race, no deluges of rain causing pussy FIA red flagging or starting under SC. And no tragedies.
