I already knew that Museo's announcement was sudden, and would majorly fuck over Alpine for, of all people, Otmar's conduct towards him, but we're two days into the summer break and things are in utter chaos.

I suppose McLaren will be the most likely seat for Piastri, considering Alpine has completely and utterly misplayed everything, and probably lost their two best options for drivers to boot. Bunch of utter clowns, and I say that as a Ferrari fan.

This has all but convinced me the rumours about Piastri's contract having a "seat by 31/7" stipulation is not just completely correct, but that Renault completely forgot about it, and have now totally shot themselves in the foot by not bothering to continue Alonso's contract before now. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't well-deserved, honestly.

There's some srumours abound that AT have swooped and grabbed him as Tsunoda's replacement/RBR reserve.

It's a move you'd go for in Piastri's place, it's someone RBR/AT would want and it's something Marco/Horner would absolutely do. Plus Webber is Piastri's manager.

Alpine vs McLaren seems like a pretty meh move but AT with a RBR seat coming free for 2025? Yeah that would be a sweet deal and a shot at a championship down the line.

That said there is rumours linking Piastri to every vacant (and some not so vacant) seat on the grid.

Alpine keeping it short and sweet in the response

Pierre to Alpine

oscar to McLaren

unless Oscar goes to AT to replace utter fucking garbage Tsunoda

Oscar to AT would probably be his smartest move. Let's face it you need to be in a Ferrari, Mercedes or RBR to win a championship anytime soon. AT is the gateway to one of those teams while Alpine is a deadend with no links to any of those three.

Pierre to Alpine
Makes sense. Two Frogs driving would be Alpine's wettest dream come true.

There are worse places Piastri could be than AT. Even if their next few cars are as bad as their 2022 one, at least it'll keep him warm for RBR until Checo moves on.
Red Bull doesn't like to hire people outside their own system.
Like @Coccxys said, this was true right up until RBR hired Checo. It's been pointed out that Webber is Piastri's manager, so there's an RBR connection there (although that could be coincidental).

TBH I had no idea Webber was involved with managing F1 drivers; I thought he'd completely left the scene to work full-time for Porsche running driver training and track days for them.

I would agree prior to Perez getting that seat. With them yeeting Vips over his pewdiepie moment and seemingly content to sit Gastly in the AT forevermore they don't have any strong prospects for replacing Perez in 2025.
They have at least 4 drivers beyond Vips in the F2. Lawson, Daruvala, Iwata and Hauger. Of these, I'd rate Daruvala the strongest this current season but only because Hauger's had very bad luck in this year's F2 season.

So much fun news in F1. I would go to Twitter and follow it, but somehow the announcement from Williams will lead to idiots tweeting back about Sir Lewis Hamilton not being respected and loved enough.

Resulting in my phone breaking.

Hamilton invests in Denver Broncos

Lewis Hamilton has become part of the investment group that is set to complete a purchase of the Denver Broncos, the NFL team has announced.

The seven-time Formula 1 world champion attempted to invest in Chelsea when it invited bids earlier this year, but ultimately his consortium was not successful. Now the Walton-Penner Family Ownership Group has announced that Hamilton will have an ownership stake when it completes its $4.65billion takeover, which is set to be finalized on August 9.

“We’re delighted to welcome seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Sir Lewis Hamilton to our ownership group,” Rob Walton said in a statement. “He is a champion competitor who knows what it takes to lead a winning team and a fierce advocate for global equality, including in his own sport.

“With over 100 race wins, Lewis is considered the most successful F1 driver of all time. His resilient spirit and standard of excellence will be an asset to the ownership group and the Broncos organization.”

Hamilton – who has a residence in Colorado – himself took to social media to confirm the news, alongside an image of his dog Roscoe in Broncos merchandise.

“Excited to join an incredible group of owners and become a part of the Broncos story!” he posted. “Honored to work with a world class team and serve as an example of the value of more diverse leadership across all sports.”

I wonder if Hambone will lean on the Broncos to give Colin Kaepernick a shot at making a comeback?

Ah yes, the neverbeforeseen ownership of a multimillionaire athlete. Truly, Sir Hambone is breaking barriers everywhere being an inspiration to those world champions who always wanted to use their millions to buy sports teams but were kept down by the ciswhiteheteropatriarchy.
