With Hamilton's luck he will absolutely pull off a win, no question to it imo. If he qualifies well it only takes 1 opportune safety car (which seems to always benefit him anyway) or a redbull and ferrari taking each other out. Can't imagine that situation not happening atleast once in the remaining races.
They are already by far the best team in terms of reliability, so i reckon just with that they'll jump ahead of ferrari in the constructors.

Kinda sad that vettel is retiring before hamilton and alonso, i always thought that he would outlast his big rivals. I didn't like him back when he was winning, but looking back at it he was a big part of arguably the most entertaining era of F1 from 2009-2013.

Strongly depends on if Andretti gets in or if they get cockblocked so long that he loses interest. For what i've heard Colton Herta would be their go-to guy in F1 so if Andretti can get a reasonably competetive car (maybe possible from '26 on) and his talent isn't completely overhyped there might be a shot atleast.

Herta was also rumoured at Mclaren for a while, don't think they would take him over Piastri or Pouchaire tho if they could get their hands on either.

Late to the party but lol at leClerck. Vettel going to retire after this season seems fair enough he's put a lot of time in but yeah did also think he'd out last Alonso Hamilton will be at it a few more years I assume. He's just non stop.

Zak Brown is buddies with Andretti. If he doesn't just move over to McLaren's indy team they could swap him with Herta. Colton had his test drive and I think I remember it going well?

I started watching in 2011, picked Red Bull as I liked the drink as a kid, and then got to watch the greatest season ever the next year round. He will always be one of the greatest in my eyes, just due to all the talent in the field when he won his four.

I don't want to shit on your parade, but 2012 is probably the most overrated season of all time and I'm kind of tired of hearing on r/formula1 and elsewhere over how great it was from people who started watching around that time. If you want a season with wildcard winners, a fierce multi-way championship battle that lasted until the final round, backrunners challenging for a win, and more or less every team barring the bottom two competing for high points, 2003 and 2006 did that much better in my honest opinion. 2012 was good for its era, I'll give you that, but all I really remember from it was Maldonado and Grosjean at the peak of their ability to turn into wrecking balls and ruin people's races, drive-through penalties at their worst, Schumi getting ratfucked out of podiums and points in the most bizarre, consistent manner possible, Kimi not doing enough to properly challenge for the title, Vettel basically walking the whole thing and Alonso ultimately being denied his third title for the second time.

And in regards to Vettel, he will likely be known in history as F1's Icarus figure, a man who flew too close to the sun to try and be like his idol. He had no reason to go to Ferrari; RBR would have looked after him even after Verstappen debuted, and Merc would have probably loved the idea of having two multi-time world champions driving for them, like they did back in the pre-war years. He chose Ferrari out of passion, and paid the price.

For me I enjoyed 2012 more because of the teams and drivers involved. I found them to be more interesting than the other years mentioned as I went back a year or so ago and watched them on F1TV. It's merely a personal preference and I don't think anyone is inherently wrong to hold a different opinion. For me, seeing Lotus back on the grid, the amount of Champions, the track selection and also Vettel's race in Brazil: charge through the field after early contact, and overcoming everything from damage to the car, wrong pitstops, the radio not working... that's what makes it great to me. But it's good to bring up those others because I think they were great too.

Hot take: I firmly believe Alonso never won a title with Ferrari because of the divine Karma of Felipe Massa. If Crashgate had not happened, Massa likely never would have ripped the fuel hose off in the 08 Signapore GP. If Massa had a normal race he probably would have won the championship.

Vettel won a race in a fucking Minardi (yes, it was Toro Rosso officially, but it was basically a Minardi).

He will always be better than Hamilton for me.

It was Minardi with money and competent leadership. Minardi itself always had good drivers (heck it was Alonso's very first team) but their leadership wasn't exactly good to say it mildly.

In regards to seasons:: 2012 was good with so many different winners and an Alonso who boxed his shitty Ferrari to the title fight. But going back to the seasons I watched there was also 1999 when Mclaren were handed the keys to the championship when Schumacher broke his legs and nearly lost it all while Frentzen made an unnoticed grab for the title until Jordan fucked it up. Of course 2003 was also great especially the chaos race in Brazil where the winner had to be changed by the FIA 2 weeks later

This quote can unfortunately be applied to many events that happened in F1 from 1991 - 2003.

Eddie Jordan did not deserve the success he got. Awful fucking team leader.
  • Didn't learn anything from Schumi's Benetton transfer, treated his brother as a second driver the whole time
  • Ratfucked RSC out of a win to give one to Hill, which saw him move to Williams from 1999
  • Didn't replace Hill in 1999 even though he was clearly off the pace, let HHF run a one-man show
  • Hardly helped Heinz-Harald's attempt at the title, lucked into it and fucked it up right at the end
  • Didn't sell to Honda when they came knocking (though they wanted to wipe his name/identity from the car, so I don't blame him)
  • 2000 car was painfully slow and unreliable
  • 2001 saw HHF get kicked from the team to Prost and then Arrows, they took on Alesi but struggled for points
  • Had no engine contract for 2003 so defaulted to Cosworth, who couldn't make a V10 to save their lives after Stewart
  • Sued Vodafone for a sponsor deal that ended up going to Ferrari, which cost them a lot of their money
  • Had a horrid 2003 after the win at Brazil, car was ridiculously uncompetitive
  • Burned through rookies and pay drivers like it was going out of style; Sato, Firman, Baumgartner, Pantano, Glock, Karthikeyan and Monteiro in just four seasons
Also, I just noticed a bit of a coincidence; every rookie who drove a full-time contract for Jordan from 1991 - 1993 ended up at Ferrari.

This weekend, it's the 24hr of Spa free on YouTube at GT World. For the first time since 2020, Aston Martin through customer teams will field two cars with an all pro line up. staring at 16:00 local time

And if you're quick, there's a classic race going on right now featuring cars like the Maserati GT1, Aston Martin DB9 plus Porsches, Ferraris, Audi, Lamborghinis and Corvettes.

damn must be a dry summer in Hungary. hopefully the ferraris dont explode again or they'll take half the property with them

If Sainz' Motor blows up after two races, it'd spell doom for Ferrari. They'd be hard pressed to keep up with Mercedes, who have the significantly slower car, but when Ferrari has engine troubles this big, there is no coming back this season for them.

I think Ferrari learned their lesson from Baku and Spain: in France which was hot as hell the engines came out a ok. Not sure what happened with Bottas but it didn't seem to be an engine problem. And let's be real here Hungary is Monaco without walls. So no real heavy usage on the engines

Sure, the engines may not turn into a campfire, but that doesn't say anything about the power unit deciding to up and quit.
