I'm honestly surprised how Mercedes is going back to the strategy of last year of using the second driver as a bowling ball to take out the competition for Hamilton.

That said, Russel is clearly superior to Bottas. Usually Bottas would also take out his own car. George is looking at 27 points for the team. Fucking GOAT.

Haas proving last race wasn't a fluke is pretty awesome. Even if Sainz and Perez were still in it, both drivers are in the points.

I seriously had written off Schumacher as a dud already.

I didn't even think Charles would be in it, and he somehow managed it with a teammate knocked out, a stuck throttle, and his engine stuck in the high revs. Utterly beautiful, even if I'm on the verge of a heart attack. Turned into a fantastic race, but I wish the cams showed a bit more of the Haas boys.

These proper European tracks are a million miles ahead of murican carparks and desert sithole roads. Liberty aren't going to learn that though.
We have plenty of good road courses over here, may the FIA and fucking Tilke forever keep their hands off them. So you get the parking lots.

Edit: Lewis praising the crew again. I wonder if he got a talking to about slagging his guys that finally stuck.

We can't have a race at Road America because it's "too rural", but it is within an hour drive of a city of over a million people. Red Bull Ring is an hour away from a city of 300k.

It's probably because he's getting podiums again.
I think there's a point where even someone as shameless as HAM has to admit that he only managed that by sheer luck. But if that's not the case, then he can probably spare his ego by saying 'he' drove as well as he could, since so much of Merc is committed to declaring the car to be a hopeless shitbox, with the alleged GOAT doing what he can.

Modern F1 would never accept Road America at just over four miles. They like shorter courses for emergency response, etc, etc.

(because don't have Indycar's safety team, who seem to be able to teleport to incidents.)

Also it's not "grade 1", meaning totally neutered and with the literal acres of runoff the FIA demand for that rating.

Vettel getting cucked by Albon in the sprint and then by Gasly in the race. Shit sucks. He also complained about damage right after the start, but we never saw whether that was true or not. A shame...

But on the other hand, 6th place for Mick, he had a really, really good race, had a decent battle with Hamilton, a very short one with Verstappen and also an epic one with 4 other drivers. I really hope he had his break-through and we'll see more of this. It's also interesting to note that after the sprint, he was pissed Magnussen didn't give him DRS to defend against Hamilton and he really looked like he had his father's fire in his eyes.

Not good. Red meat for the media who'll be loving being able to write a 'the toxic masculinity of motorsport' article.
You are delusional. They'll go with "the toxic masculinity and racism of Max Verstappen fans".
There's no way Charles can win - the Universe (including Ferrari) just isn't geared for it.
Ha.
As much as I dislike Hamilton, I hope he and Verstappen have a good fight for the position. Hamilton can actually try to prove himself this season if he holds off Verstappen.

Edit: lol never mind, Hamilton sucks.
Best part: The overtake happened right the moment the commentators praised Hamilton for his car placement. Verstappen literally just drove past him.
Another Black and White, this time for Hamilton. Getting a bit fucking ridiculous here.
I appreciate that the direction showed us the entire exchange. How anyone can be fan of that whiny bitch is beyond me.
Guys...I'm starting to suspect that Ferrari's are not reliable.
That's it. I'm not going to buy a Ferrari ever in my life!
Just when the race was settling down...

That was scary, no handbrake, luckily marshal had a wedge.
I think Sainz backed into the barrier, so it couldn't roll away.
For a second, I legit thought Sainz would jump out and his burning car would roll back on track, causing a red flag. I kinda feel like I jinxed the whole thing, a few laps before this happened, I said "Well, Ferrari got this in the bag, unless their engines blow up"... and lo and behold...

Edit: Over 9000 hours in MSPaint.

must admit to having a bee in my bonnet over the Aston Martin F1 team. Apart from Sebs p2 in Baku last year, it has been mostly shit. Especially as it come about after axing the WEC operation, which was a competitive outfit. Just so the strolls can play race driver and team owner

ferrari was leading a 1-2 at the 6hrs of monza then on the final lap they both had to pit for fuel FFS
