Not to mention Sulayem also walked his interview back. Though I can understand his sewntiments. The drivers can of course state what they believe in but they should not impose it on the others. Remember 2020 when Hamilton "forced" the others to kneel at the start of each race? Verstappen and Leclerc both said "Fuck of!" and kept standing each race.Sulayem likes to make a lot of noise, without any action. After all, has Harbleton removed his jewelry yet?
Getting Arabs, Eastern Europeans, or Africans in charge of sports and institutions is about the only way to save them these days. The people who get to the top of things in America and Western Europe either already have the "correct beliefs" or are good at playing the game of not questioning those that hold them. Even if he walked it back a bit him telling them to just shut the fuck up and drive is pretty much what any fan of the sport (as opposed to just a fan of lewlew and his causes) also thinks.Sort of surprised to see support for Suleyman's statement here, in all honesty. It came off as massively hypocritical for me considering the very country he's from, and his 'Arabic culture' actually did impact the sport
Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying he shouldn't be heading it, just it feels like he's deliberately cherrypicking examples. For the most part, whatever Lando's been doing has been off the track, and Seb and Blewis really barely do shit on track anyway besides slap stickers on scooters and helmets. It's off-track that they're really in people's faces about that stuff. (Wonder if Seb was looking in Hamilton's direction when he said F1 was 'ready for an openly gay driver', kek)Getting Arabs, Eastern Europeans, or Africans in charge of sports and institutions is about the only way to save them these days. As someone else posted the Quatari world Cup should be good for all the empty virtue signalling being not well received. That plus if Liverpool fans trying to recreate Hillsborough in Paris to cry victim some more thought the police gave them a hard time try being a hooligan in an Arab state.
There a big difference between drivers saying they won't race on safety grounds to whatever the fuck bloois was doing with all the kneeling and ridiculous message t-shirts.I think drivers have always been pretty open about their believes, it's just the rise of social media has made that increasingly obvious. Jackie Stewart even had other drivers protest to the point of getting a few GPs cancelled due to safety concerns back in those days, and that sort of change still happens these days, with the Halos and how fuckhueg cars are now.
Aye, I don't think we really completely disagree here. I just find it really fucking funny. People didn't like it then, and it's clear each of his latest causes of the week are grating on people even more than before now that he's slipping down the rankings. Hoping for a good result to see yet more quality Toto/Hamlester salt as well, however. There a big difference between drivers saying they won't race on safety grounds to whatever the fuck bloois was doing with all the kneeling and ridiculous message t-shirts.
As I said elsewhere on here I don't find anything Vettel is doing/saying to be an issue because its mostly off track and he's putting his money (and time) where his mouth is. Lewlew made 2 seasons of the sport all about his BLM crying with all the kneeling shit, aforementioned tshits about shit like Breonna Taylor just because it was the latest crowing from that side and even crybullying the silver arrows into not being silver.
Source (Archive)Nico Rosberg’s team has denied reports that he was turned away from the Monaco GP paddock, telling PlanetF1.com that it is “not true” as he “didn’t try” to gain access.
The 2016 World Champion is part of Sky Sports’ roster of Formula 1 pundits and last season was often seen in the paddock with a microphone in hand.
This year, most of his interviews have been conducted from his home in Monte Carlo while even his duties in Monaco were away from the circuit.
The reason being, he is unvaccinated.
The former F1 driver has chosen not to be vaccinated for Covid-19 as he has already had it and therefore his doctor feels he has enough antibodies.
But while his PR manager has confirmed that, she denied reports that he was prevented from entering the paddock in Monaco, said to have been turned away by security.
“Nico Rosberg recovered from a corona virus infection and currently holds a recovery certificate,” a spokesperson told PlanetF1.
“He has his antibody levels tested regularly and, on the recommendation of his doctor, does not currently require any vaccinations.
“In addition, he continues to comply with all necessary hygiene and precautionary measures.”
Asked about the Monaco paddock rumours, she said: “This is not true. He didn’t try to get into the F1 paddock.”
Instead the 36-year-old spent time speaking with Sky Sports presenter Martin Brundle a few kilometres away from the track.
Last season Formula 1 accepted a negative PCR test for those who normally had access to the paddock, but this year a rule was put in place that only those vaccinated are allowed in.
There are, however, grounds where those with medical reasons can apply for a special permit.
It is unclear whether Rosberg did apply for the exemption.
Remember Mclaren Lewis when he used to be fun? Watching him drive the MP4/4 on Top Gear made me really like him. Now he just seems so self serious. Contrast that with someone like Alonso who just seems focused on racing and nothing more.Aye, I don't think we really completely disagree here. I just find it really fucking funny. Azerbaijan Grand Prix: Hamilton and Vettel say they will continue to speak out
Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel say they will continue to speak out on issues after FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem questioned whether they should.
The boss of Formula 1's governing body suggested last week that drivers should not "impose their beliefs" on others.
Hamilton said it was important the sport continues to be a platform "to spark more conversations".
Vettel said diversity and environmental matters were "bigger than us, bigger than the sport can ever be".
Vettel speaking on enviroment is so far funny as he stated he would vote the Green Party in Germany. Meanwhile he lives in Switzerland and pays taxes there not in Germany. Great example for being a hypocrite. Voting but not being affected by said voting. This is the only kind of reporting the BBC does on anything these days

Don't know if it was mentioned here but Seb was on the British political talk show Question Time a few weeks back. Pretty clear how he intends to spend his retirement.
Nico 'monster antibodies' Rosberg
See, he was sandbagging hard and expected to be farther behind, but despite sandbagging everyone else was just much slower than expected. Lewis Haters BTFO'd, Merc is back and he'll win this race! And to the current training results: both Mercedes behind over 1 second. Heck during FP2 Hamilton was told he is 2.3 seconds behiond and he only said 2.3 seconds????
Merc is at a disadvantage as Baku is also quite bouncy (not sure if as bad as Monaco or slightly better) Also all cars seem to have porpoising but Merc's seems to be the worst so far. And if slow corners were the advantage for Merc then why didn't they shin in Monaco? I think their current car only works on tracks like Barcelona: smooth track surface, long straight, faster corners. So I suspect they might shine in Silverstone. But the coming Canada or France? No fucking way. Their car is a shit box and whatever they upgraded isn't enough. Plus the budget cap limits on what they can actually do.On a more serious note, aren't slow corners something where Merc isn't as much on a disadvantage though? I thought anywhere, where aero isn't very important suits them. Tracks with long straights and fast corners break their neck, cause they either set up for the fast corners and suffer on the straights (due to high drag) or they set up for long straights and suffer in the fast corners due to low downforce.
So basically a track that demands high downforce and has fast segments is worse than a track that is nothing but a few really slow corners and a long straight.
And if slow corners were the advantage for Merc then why didn't they shin in Monaco?
Fun fact: in the Philippines, "baku-bako" means rough/bumpy. It's often used to describe a rough road.

Yeah, but mainly for GTE-Pro, Corvette is starting on pole and I'm really hoping they win since it's likely the last time they'll be at Le Mans, with both Porsche and Ferrari moving up to the top class in 2023, the Pro class is dead next year and in 2024 they're going to be replace the GTE class entirely with GT3 in a pro-am only format, so no more Corvette Racing at Le Mans. As glad as I am that the top class is going to be absolutely stacked with factory teams next year it's sadly come at the cost of the factory GT teams.Anyone keeping an eye on the 24hrs race? Looks like the usual "Get in there Toyota" despite the close result from the Hyperpole
