Indy 500 update for you guys. Starting grid can be found here: https://www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com/events/indy500/event-info/live-grid

I'll probably be hoping for Romain to bring it home in the Andretti, he's starting in 9th place, in the 3rd row, so on the standing start he'll be battling for 7th-9th place. Of course, these indy 500s could be won by anyone due to how much carnage and different strategies are involved. Other than the other popular indycar drivers, Jimmy Johnson is pretty popular over here, especially among the nascar fans who are getting into indycar, and he's one row behind in 12th. Scott Dixon in the mcclaren is on pole and is in 5th in the points standings.

Looking at the standings, the points leaders are Will Power (11th on the starting grid), Alex Polou (2nd). In 5 races there have been 4 winners, the series is wide open, and it's pretty refreshing for this F1 fan (mainly owing to the highly prescriptive spec nature of indycar) (for perspective, last years indycar champ only won 3 out of the 16 races)

Don't forget the indy 500 is double points. (remember when formula 1 made abu dhabi double points for the final race, i think it was 2014?)

Just saw that the FIa has extended it's grace peiod for jewellry to the race in Canada. So Hamilton can still drive with his nose ring and whatever piercings he has. I am not supürised it happens as for one this topic isn't the biggest on the list and who knows what feedback they got so far.

Oh and apparently for this weekend there is a possible rain chance at race day. Monacco in the rain brings back the 1997 vibe where Mika Salo drove the race without ever showing up to change tyres

Again?

At this point they might as well say starting from first race next year.

Well we have Rossberg on the sky team for the weekend so time for hamdick sucking beyond even the baseline.

We've just had the line about how Hamilton is driving so much better than everyone he's just not got the car and has been unlucky against Russell. Apparently he's also more motivated than ever (we should quit and save the engine) and working so hard with the engineers (fix this shit while I go make a rap album and some fine some abomination to wear).

Just took a look at free practice 1 and i am greeted with Hamilton's radio "The bouncing is crazy" Whelp if it stays like this I was right after a fashion: the Mercedes upgrade seems to only work for specific tracks
As much as I enjoy watching Hambone struggle, several of the drivers are complaining about how rough the ride is....

It was just FP1 but the top 3 within 1 hundred of a second. Meanwhile Russel is 0,6 seconds behind and Hamilton nearly 1 second. If this continues which i honestly doubt Merc will be in for a rough race. Of course knowing how this usually goes one Ferrari and one RedBull probably won't make it to the end

Anyone who said ‘MERC’S BACK’ after last week was a deluded Hamilton fanboy. The Merc is comfortably the third best car and sure enough HAM was able to climb his way back to its natural place over the course of the race. Even with the porpoising ‘solved’ it is still adrift of Ferrari and Red Bull. Barring a miracle Merc will not challenge this year, at best they’ll get a shock pole or even win but that’s it.

it looks like all the teams were setting up the car way too stiff, they probably under-estimated how much the new tyres were unable to cushion the bumps.

This race could be a good chance for a Sainz dub, because red bull might struggle with their low front downforce package which eats away at tyres, and merc will likely still be off even if in second or third place.

am taking a gamble this weekend, switched out Max for Lewis this weekend, I'm not confident in the red bull with its light front downforce, and mercedes might hook up their suspension over the weekend. Anyway, we will see.
