I was hoping they would never have to return to China again. I don't remember a single good race held there.
Also, looks like they built that one track in Hanoi for nothing. Welp.
Also also, the race in Miami doesn't look very promising, but who knows. Baku didn't seem good, but it's usually one of the craziest races in the calendar since its inception.

Baku offers a very, very long straight and some very, very slow corners with short straights.
Cars with high top speed can take advantage of the long straight and pull away from the pack while the slower but more nimble cars can catch back up at the slower sections of the track. In that regard, the track offers something for everyone.

China isn't terrible and a few good races took place there I guess, but it doesn't stand out like other tracks. It doesn't have one really unique chicane, corner or straight to make it really stand out.

Just watched the Netflix Schumacher documentary, it's not really about his time in F1, that's already that out there, but a look at the man underneath the helmet. I'd say it does quite a good job. While most of the stuff in there is already out there eg. Ross' bit about Jerez '97 was already on a youtube interview. Has a few things I didn't know, like his early years karting. The interviews with his family are really interesting.

If you sail the high seas for it make sure it has subs a lot of the interviews are in foreign languages.

Looks like things are as expected, just can't lie to ourselves as much about his condition.

Schumacher to possibly get a street named after him

https://youtube.com/watch?v=8KYszGSl_OMWhy did they ever think that running an all rookie lineup was going to be a good idea?
Mick for the name, fame and possibly for the money that he brings with himself. Mazepin cause Mazepin Sr. owns the team.

I really hope Mick moves on to Alfa Romeo. It's less of a shitbox and he'd have Bottas as a mentor. Mazepin pulled some amazingly shitty maneuvers, such as forcing Mick towards the pit entry on a racetrack, where that would send him careening directly into the pitlane with all the people standing there. FIA didn't give a shit.
In 14 races, Mazepin only managed to get past Mick and finish his race twice.

Let's just hope this doesn't lead to something really bad happening. Mazepin trying to overtake Mick and ending up directly in Vettels path while he was doing a hot lap could have ended in desaster.

A wet race in Socchi might actually spice things up for once. Or it turns out to be even more of a borefest than usual, when spray and slippery conditions discourage anyone from even attempting an overtake.

Here's to hoping some asshat wipes out Hamilton and Verstappen takes the win.

If they do a spa style 2 laps behind the saftey car followed by sitting in the puts for 3 hours with Crofty and Brundel talking shit to fill dead air it will still be the best race that track has ever seen.

Could be worse though, it could be Yas Marina. That's the worst thing about this Hamilton Vestappen battle, you just know its coming down to a race at that place. It should be the most important and interesting race since the start of the hybrid era but its that track.

The talk of Yas Marina (ugh) reminded me of something:

I think one of the main downfalls of Yas Marina is that the stands for spectators are placed in such a way that it limits runoff areas. For instance, this forces the layout to put a chicane in front of a hairpin, so cars don't go full speed into the hairpin and crash head on into the way-too-close barriers.
That hairpin could be pretty decent with a straight runup, but the chicane just kills all overtaking. And it's by far not the only place on the track that's just meh.

Also going down the rabbithole of F1 videos, I found this:

Lewis can be a pretty decent fella at times, not gonna lie. It's just that the ratio of him being a decent guy to him being a douche is 1:2 at least.

It's nice to see Grosjean is doing well for himself in IndyCar. It made me wonder if Alonso would consider trying his hand at IndyCar after his contract is done with Alpine? He's got a shot to be the second driver to complete the Triple Crown of Motorsports (Monaco Grand Prix, Indy 500, 24 Hours of Le Mans), especially when you consider the winner of this year's 500 is six years older than Alonso.

That last IndyCar race was fantastic I thought. Grosjean did a great strategy to allow him to be on new softs with 20 laps left. He tore through the field and that clash with JJ at corkscrew may have just kept him from possibly challenging for the win. But yeah, even though he had better tires, he was doing the driving and pulled off some stellar moves. It was tugging at my heart strings watching him go. Proved that he is a great driver, just had shit luck with the teams in F1. 3 podiums thus far and 20 points behind in rookie standings with having done 3 less races than McLaughlin, he also is doing good too. Indycar really is starting to get a lot better and I am pretty much hooked to following it now.

Finale this weekend, Palou (another great driver who would be better than a few guys currently in F1) looks like a lock unless some crazy shit happens. Ericsson will be top 5 in championship too, so well done to him!

If Indycar keeps going like this, the days may come back when 40 cars enter for the 500. 17 races announced for next year but will be sad to see the end of the season this weekend. Most of the races I watched this year were enjoyable for me,

Triple Crown, Montoya could do it too I think. Pretty sure he won Monaco and did win the 500. Maybe he will do LM this year. Be cool if both he and Fred got it, but classy Mr. Hill isn't so bad for the only person to have ever managed it. This dude I knew way back in the early days of the internet lived in Indy and he was at every 500 from '65 up to when I was talking with him in late 90s. He invited me down for the 2000 USGP but that was my first year seeing Cdn GP and I couldn't swing the double due to fucking work commitments.

The issue for Alonso is that he'd have to dedicate his efforts to Indy in it's fullest. He shouldn't just go out and do Indy only, he should do full seasons to get a grip of oval racing and get his triple crown with a top-shelf team. It also would piss off his fanbase who as far as I can tell, want him to stay in F1 until the heat death of the universe and somehow expect him to win championships while farting around in the middlefield.

It's really shitty, on one hand, I hope Mick will move on to Alfa (if only so he doesn't have to deal with his boss' son any longer), but on the other, I don't want to see Giovinazzi to lose his cockpit.
