I began lurking around the community since the first time TheClick featured it in a noahgettheboat video arround 2019. After that fluffys became to me something like herpes on the upper lip. Keeps comeing back to me and it's really unconfortabe, and you're stuck with it untill you kick the bucket.

Still, if there's anything lol worthy about this whole hellhole was the jellynhimer oc drama after TheClicks breife stunt with them.

It got so bad on their nerves that when I checked their websites official style guide, it has a whole section seething about them.

That "Your browser will soon be incompatible with this community" message at the top of every Archive.today archive became true. They must have updated the shitty Discourse forum software. This actually makes it faster to archive FluffyCommunity pages, but some aspects like avatars are lost, and only the first 20 comments are saved unless you further archive a "?page=n" link.

Example: Page 1 + Page 2

Wayback Machine is similarly affected. Ghostarchive appears completely broken until you use the "?wr=false" option. Megalodon.jp gave the best results. Rearchiving that does not look good.

I've been doing some deeper thinking on what species these things would be the closest to or based on. From a evolutionary biology standpoint they're sort of all over the place.

Initially I thought they were supposed to be based on cats/dogs because a lot of the art seems to depict them having similar traits like, living in cardboard boxes when homeless, being territorial, having the same domesticated pet role that a dog or cat would have, recognizing their own name from their owner.

But then they're also depicted as a feral pest and have some rodent/vermin characteristics like a large mouse. Being susceptible to similar extermination methods used for rodents.

And all this is ignoring the fact that they can somehow talk and understand some level of rudimentary reasoning, such as the ability to barter and trade. A species that has the intelligence of a two year old human would not be this low evolutionarily.

I know this is reading too much into a cartoon shitpost made by weirdos online, but I thought it's just interesting to me how they can't seem to pick a lane on where they sit on the developmental ladder.

While there is certainly similarities and it depends on the author, I think it mostly comes down to "living plush doll." I think it was supposed to be some experiment that got out, but I can't quite remember.

Not being directly related to an animal and only borrowing pest characteristics is likely by design. That way it feels fictional and a little further from the animal abuse community. I imagine if it weren't for the community being related to MLP, there probably would've been something even further from an animal. See the Yukkuri abuse community where the object of abuse is a sentient pastry.
