Palm Bay, FL - A man's been arrested after ripping the head off a pet parakeet that belonged to a person whose home he was staying at.

According to the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, the unidentified man was arrested on Monday after killing the pet.

The victim told deputies the man stayed at his home for about a week, before acting "irate and not himself" while "possibly on an unknown drug."

The man then threw a birdcage to the ground, breaking the cage and freeing one bird.

He grabbed a second bird and decapitated it by ripping the bird's head from it's body with his hands.

The man also caused property damage throughout the home.

He was arrested on charges of felony animal cruelty and criminal mischief under $200.

He's being held in the Brevard County jail on $2,500 bond.

Pidgeons, we're coming for you next
Please do!

My apartment complex is overwhelmed with the fuckers and they won’t go away.

It even reached a point where, out of desperation, they released shelter cats on the property to hunt and kill them. End result? The cats and birds formed an alliance, so now we have an infestation of pidgeons and feral cats.

Parakeets deserve to live but pidgeons need to be exterminated.

This does not surprise me. Always remember, cats will do what is in their best interest, not yours.
