Oh god, the Dark Mode release was horrid. Why they thought it would be a good idea to release this unfinished and force us all to be their guinea pigs is beyond me. Supposedly this was released with accessibility in mind but it seems to be giving everyone eyestrain. There's been some issues with bugs causing the screen to flash. They also switched buttons around for no reason? The contrast with the themes, and especially between "available" and "unavailable" buttons are terrible and difficult to parse.

Style choices and theme options are something even big corporate sites and applications utilize which is what is REALLY throwing me. Its like the staff here are stuck in the 90s and don't know how layouts work at all. Even these forums (Kiwi) have style options and shit. And if they (FR Staff) don't know how to do something maybe they should hire someone who does because if I pulled this type of stuff at my current company I would be fired FAST. We would never roll out something in this state to the end users and would NEVER push experiment to prod. If you want/need people to test, you have people opt in and COMPLETE it before pushing it out to everyone. Its like they have a single hamster on a keyboard keysmashing their stuff. AI could literally do better than this. It is also like they are allergic to feedback. We have a team of people who do marketing research and user feedback. FR doesnt need an entire team, they can hire a single person to scout the suggestions forums, compile stuff, produce polls, forms, interviews, etc. Again, normal things that companies do.

Dark Mode Redux on Stylus had updated within just a few days to be compatible with the new layout, and although there's some graphical glitches here and there it has made the site usable.

More random tid bits of drama and personal woes: they have banned a popularly used image hosting website postimg because of the explicit ads that may appear if you visit the website. Didn't warn anyone so people can change them, so now thousands of hosted images are broken. Funnily enough, they're forcing people to visit the website so that they can download the images and rehost them. Europe has been banning a lot of image hosting websites as a whole and I still have no clue what to use for my images so that everyone can see them.

I stole this from someone (no I am not giving credit) and don't know if FR blocks these, and I have not tested, but thought I would share.

Though this explains why some of my images went poof. I do save local copies though. I cant be bothered to reupload every time FR staff shit themselves. Because for some reason they feel the need to police everything outside of FR too.

They still haven't dealt with the 10k+ AI scraper bots invading the website and slowing it down every once in a while. They usually appear right after an update, but hilariously enough the dark mode release was so bad even they didn't want in on it. They were back after the release of the next update after that though. The playerbase has been urging them to stop allowing so much of the website to be seen by people who aren't logged into an account. It's unnecessary. However I've seen someone express concern that this may encourage them to create bot accounts, something that has apparently already happened before? A bot that gave a long AI generated summary of a thread out of the blue?

I ran into a thread before the staff got to it once. They just spam up the forums with AI nonsense. AI scrapers is an issue we are trying to fight at work as well simply for a cost perspective because it utilizes a ton of resources and can cause our costs to go up. Obviously if its too aggressive it can basically cause outages too. FR needs to use something like Cloudflare or Tartarus. Again, this is basic knowledge one should have especially in the industry they are part of.

I stopped playing not only because of drama, poor management, and mouse mod, but also because theres literally nothing to do after all of these years. I fight in the same venue to raise baby dragons to exalt them to make dragon money. All for what? For someone to just use crypto under the table to buy up all the Light Sprites, gen 2 imps, and imp scrolls.
