In this game you play as a woman who was the victim of a ruthless attack by a psychopath, almost definitely the postal dude, and the game seems to consist of you trying to take your revenge while killing anyone who gets in your way and probably dealing with your own psychosis and trauma in the process. The game was just announced and all that's known is the 2027 release window and basic concept.

Updates: Apparently this is actually a reboot of a game they cancelled way back in 1999, it was supposed to be a sequel/spin off of the original Postal before they decided to just make a 3D Postal and struck gold with Postal 2. This game seems to be a return to the dark gritty roots of the series as well with darker themes and tone overall.

If it was the 2000s, I'd be really fucking keen on a game from the perspective of someone who was Postal Dude collateral.

I didn't hate P4 like most people did, and I had some fun with Brain Damaged cuz I like boomyshoots, so I don't automatically hate new RWS stuff.

But I vaguely remember that Mike Jay is running RWS now and has become one of those "don't like it, don't buy it" kind of people who tells his audience what they should want, which rubs me the wrong fucking way even when I like their games.

With that in mind, I'm not getting excited until I see a real decent chunk of gameplay and how it's written.
 
With how they basically left Postal 4 out to dry it'll be a long while before I trust RWS off the jump again. Also, how incredibly boring for a choice in protagonist. Angry revenge obsessed foid is like the bald space marine of the current era.
 
I just saw the trailer and didn't even realize there was already a thread. The fact the main character looks like a mix of the two fag chicks from the OG Life is Strange while the "antagonist" she's going after is obviously a silhouette of the postal dude makes it so fucking lame. Nb4 Troll's Remorse: The Game.

RWS still not realizing that the big appeal of Postal 2 was the reasonable specs for the time, then the ongoing support and ability to run on a potato.

Postal 4 is still unoptimized/unfinished garbage.

This looks like it will be the same except with a tranny twist.
 
Woman revenge plots have plenty of established space in horror movies, like I Spit on Your Grave. If they're going for a homage to classic cult horror, I could see myself enjoying this. It's unfortunately more likely that they're using Postal to sell a turd.

i mean, so was postal dude at the time. Postal 2 was like a video game made out of Kevin Smith movie plots sewn together like a blanket sewn out of a bunch of people's faces - let them cook. if it's dogshit then nobody is really going to be surprised either

I am gonna be real with you, there is in no way you can make a memorable edgy game with a female main character to go with. Either that female character has to have high level of depth and artistic hardwork put into it or she she has to be an eye candy and RWS is doing none of the two.

postal 2 was an elaborate joke making fun of bush era bread and circus and you can just do the same thing but turnabout and make fun of how modern society completely ignores if not validates women doing crazy shit in public. its basically already written itself

I don't even know what you're getting at here. Postal 2 barely has a plot, it's just a checklist that encourages you to go postal as you get inconvenienced over and over. It's actually an incredibly novel concept, daily chores that explode into gratuitous violence.

MUH TRAUMA and REE I MUST KILL THE MOID WHO WRONGED ME! is the plot of like 98% of modern games.

God damn that protagonist is hideous. I am seriously supposed to believe that Grandma there can kill hundreds of dudes? Nope. It even dresses like a troon.
 
1. Game ends with her realizing that the whole thing was a hallucination and she died from her wounds and never went on a killing spree in the first place (supernatural powers, really?)
2. Game ends with her actually killing Postal Dude and it's the last nail in the coffin for Postal series
3. Game ends with Postal Dude killing her and pissing on her corpse
4. Game ends in Last of Us 2-esque "revenge is le bad" copout

Place your bets. I'm hoping for 2 but it's probably 1.
