This "haha I owned this dude in an internet argument and said a funny thing" self-asspatting is boring and quite frankly gay
I still have no idea who he's mad at because every time he makes a video where he brings this stuff up he censors all pertinent information with the sound of an aux cable farting into an amp. It's sort of like when youre walking with someone who just walked through a spider web and they start spazzing out at invisible bees.

I like this dude a lot more when he's making interesting videos about an interesting topic (even when he's just reading a synopsis of something like Eye of the Chickenhawk, which his Serial Killing for Fun and Profit video essentially was).

It could be paving the way for more spectacular autism in the future. LET HIM COOK

I had a job that required me to be bored at 4am and I was using 4chan constantly during the end of trump 1. I was on pol as an election tourist and even there they would have weird covert advertising for escort services and of course people would also spam porn. Around this time it was mostly doom posting about COVID and how everyone was going to be dead.

I just am extremely skeptical of anyone talking about it lovingly. They never have any reason it was "good". It was pointless bullshit. Everyone who ever used it for more than 10 hours will tell you it sucked. It has always sucked. Any board that moves fast is full of retards, slow boards you can say are pleasant though. You heard a lot of larpers back in the day, hell even now, say shit like "yeah I like the gun/hiking/retro game subred- i mean... Board!" And it's like yeah. But also it's just a subreddit. And people will still post nasty scary porn. Maybe not on the hiking threads.
I remember this old joke,
"I miss when /b/ was good." says the Midfag
"/b/ was never good." says the oldfag
was there a better point in time for certain boards? absolutely look at the abysmal state of /k/, for example.
was /pol/ or /b/ ever objectively good? meh not really

I don't know about goodness but there was a time when /pol/ was functional as a right-wing meme factory. Not sure when that (was) ended. It always produced a lot of waste, and now it does nothing but.

What's the newest /pol/ meme/shibboleth/thing that "everybody" knows, without knowing where it came from? Some wojack probably. Nothing from the past few years.

I'm not nostalgic about it, but it was better than it is.

This is it? I've also seen this on /x/ numerous times over the years. Yeah, it's a spoopy picture, but it's likely just a photoshop of a pre-existing Native American photo. This kind of proves my Charls Carrol comparison, he's to the point of schizo tin-foil-hattery of just believing ANYTHING that's paranormal/conspiratorial at face-value now.

It's like their mantra is: Historians and scientists? Fake and gay. Some guy that's read about "alternative facts" and made a compelling youtube video? REAL SHIT.

He's the audience stand-in, a necessary part of the dynamic
I agree. I'm pretty well-versed in conspiracy subjects, but even Flesh brings stuff up that I either have little knowledge of or haven't heard of. So without Rusty, the pod would be incomprehensible to 99% of listeners.
