I almost had a breakdown over this, but I was watching a video about the Nokia N9 and I loved the bright colors, the minimalism, and the dark mode, but I also liked the skeuomorphism of the old iPhones. I hate the icons, but I loved the actual apps being skeuomorphic. Am I just a fan of neumorphism or what, because I also hate overly simplified logos and like my desktop icons to be heavily detailed, while my phone icons I like bright and simple and sometimes round.

I preffer and i want to return to skeuomorphism in some way because nowadays flat is getting harder to decipher imho

This does not mean that skeuomorphic design is free of guilt as I interacted with some awful implementations back in the day, but for the most part the premise of design was easily identifiable and had a charm attached to it.

I think that flat took the reign as it is more space savy and scales better than a bitmap, but I am now thinking that we reached the point of diminishing returns and everything has been looking the same.
