This thread was inspired by some of the things I've seen happening both here on the Farms and in the wild. Namely, why the hell are there so many Pride flags? I thought the rainbow one was supposed to encompass everyone, but just go to the front page of the LGBT wiki and you'll see a compilation of flags that would overwhelm the goddamn United Nations.

The lesbians have their own flag, despite being a flavor of gay.

But it doesn't stop there, because the lesbian demigirls also need their very own flag. Put more accurately, they need six of them!

From there, things get even more puzzling. This is the flag for "joyfriends," a sexuality that, by my reckoning, appears to be entirely made up.

It goes on from there. Here are both flags of the "linksexuals" (sexuality where you mostly feel sexual attraction when you are around couples/partners and/or in a place or time where there is "love in the air." This is a sub-sexuality for Mutosexual). What the fuck is a subsexuality?

Here is the flag for people who are Kantogender (because apparently, "Pokemongender" was far too broad).

I welcome anyone who has experience with the flaggots to come in here and make sense of what their whole deal is, because I sure as hell can't.

I don't understand what almost all of the flags are supposed to represent. The troon flag is an exception, though: it shows their infantile perceptions of (blue and pink) gender roles.

I know pride flags can be confusing - so here's a helpful guide I found that you can use to figure out which flag is which!

It's part mental illness. Part narcissism. Part attention seeking.

As a Brit, the only thing the LGBTQPZ crowd has proved is that section 28 should never have been repealed.

It was a slippery slope.

For some reason, waving around a flag emblazoned with the symbol for God’s promise to never again flood the world for the sins of man proudly and defiantly seems to have struck a chord with narcissistic sociopathic assholes who all want to have their own unique rainbow to shove in the face of the Almighty.

Because of autists that don't understand color theory. I wish I was colorblind during pride month to not see these hideous rags.

Fuck you, you genocidal joyfreind denialist

Hazarding a guess: Obsession with microidentities so they can label literally every aspect of their personality. The flags just happen to be a retarded and easy way to visually represent that. You don’t have to know how to draw to make a genderspecial flag. You obviously don’t need to understand any visual communication theory or aesthetics either.

As a flag autist, I can almost guarantee it's something along these lines. The people designing these flags know nothing of actual vexillology and are doing it out of motivation of a personal manner. If the conventional six-color gay flag didn't exist, these kinds of people would obsess over other sorts of symbology to signal their own special brand of autism to the world.
