Five stranded sheep rescued from rooftop in England


Five sheep were rescued from a rooftop in Yorkshire, England, after jumping across a gap from a neighboring field.


Firefighters in England came to the rescue of five sheep that ended up stranded on a rooftop after jumping across a gap from a neighboring field.

The West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said in a Twitter post that its technical rescue officer responded to a property where five sheep had jumped across a gap from a field and ended up stranded on the roof of a building.



The tweet said the officer's "specialist animal husbandry training came in handy" during the unusual call.

The officer and a member of the public were able to fashion a makeshift bridge for the sheep to cross back to the field from the roof.

There was six, but nobody could talk about the six sheep sitting supine on suburban shingles, so they had to get rid of one.

Adjoining field at or near the same level as the roof which they hopped onto. I think the first photo shows the makeshift bridge they used to get them back.

Looks like the area is Newmillerdamn in Wakefield but I can't find a more precise location for which of the houses it is around there to check the terrain out.

Also because I had to see a lot of bad article titles hunting this down here's some of them so I do not suffer alone.
