The "no more drink" declaration is a cause for concern, as it may not be an option for her and she needs to taper off or else risk fatal withdrawal symptoms.
I also hope she's ready for the weight gain as all the water-scavenging her body has acclimated to perform to counteract the diuretic effect of the ethanol takes a few weeks to adjust.
Alcohol has surprising number of calories, too, which she'll need to make up elsewhere in her new sober diet.
If she's doing all this on her own, expect failure. Hopefully just failure in terms of going back to drinking (ideally in moderation until she can get professional rehab) rather than, y'know, multiple organ failure.
