With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

  • 2 Stars — Pretty bad. Some funny moments, dragged, too many vibe repair days. Barely worth checking.

    Votes: 89 11.5%
  • 3 Stars — Average. Solid entertainment in spots, some good chaos and crashouts, but nothing special

    Votes: 176 22.7%
  • 4 Stars — Really good. Lots of hilarious moments, strong fish personalities, solid content and vibes

    Votes: 406 52.4%

James mentioned that he had streamed so long that Kick stopped paying him the per hour rate because it thought he was streaming movies. I looked it up and that rate for partners, which both he and the Twins are, is $15-20 per hour with most getting $16. Supposedly the Twins have raked in $10k from Kick streaming, which is a great deal better than Bongo's Hummus Xpress job.

Twins streamed for 86h 25m:

They're streaming 43 hours per week on average, which at $16 per hour would be $688.

Bongo's commission page (Bingo's is the same and similarly sold out of 5x per week):

That's $700 a week in commissions at a negligible cost. They got a Wacom tablet in the mail yesterday, I suspect it was a gift from a fan.

The streaming partnership with Kick and commissions alone are $1388 per week, plus tts for $10, subs (reg Kick sub for $4.99 the streamer keeps $4.74), and other merch sales. They are also going to voice a Meowgenics character.

This is a good amount of money, especially considering their streams are primarily Desktop Andy. It'll fade after a couple months, but because they are women the simps will stay around much longer. Then again, Bongo said she's got artist block already-Bingo's WIP commissions kick ass though. This was a good financial move for the Twins, sitting around home watching weird YouTube videos, jumping on other Fish's streams, and playing Sims 4 is paying better and more pleasant than slaving away at some restaurant.

As an aside, Kick streamers are contractors that are issued a 1099-K if they make more than $20k. I don't know the tax implications, because that form is for receiving money from like Venmo/Cashap/Paypal and not a normal 1099 contractor.

It would be a smart move for them to hire a tax accountant. All of their streaming equipment, art supplies, any costumes/makeup/wigs they wear on stream can be written off. A good accountant can be the difference of paying $2k and $5k in taxes on that $20k and depending on what the going rate is for the area they’re in, will usually only charge $200-$500 each time they file.

really happy for them.
definitely beats overnights at the donut shop for minimum wage.
its also very cool that edmund mcmillen has been supportive of them.
props to him for that. they must psyched about it.

Definitely, people I know who do 1099 from home deduct part of their mortgage based on the home office sq ft.
yeah this is a good idea and you can get a good tax accountant for like 100 bucks.
it'll save them more money than it costs.

Landon announced on stream that he will soon move to Texas to work with GhostPolitics
Imagine Landon's horror when he realizes that they don't sell Portesi Cheese Fries in the lone star state. He'll be stuck eating the inferior copies from Papa John's.

Once Jet finally finishes losing weight he’s gonna get all high and mighty about not being the fat kid for once and we could get fattank kino. All Rachels all the time. Even better it could be half scrawny autists and half morbidly obese autists. Lots of physical challenges. Burt can lead them in daily pilates

Mini season where they trick lardasses like Apeture into thinking they're going to be on the show but then they all get there and its just a weight loss camp with AirsoftFatty doing his season 1 drill sargent schtick.
