I really don't see how they've going to make this season good without Sam. Even when he's in a piss pants mood he still brings an air of authority and legitimacy that Jet and Ben just don't have, he's also better at interacting with contestants than they are.

The benefit of them paying a host is he will actually show up on a schedule and they can plan stuff out. A lot of the downtime seems to be that Sam had obligations or just didn't want to do stuff.

Obviously not Jet's call and this was predicted long ago when everyone was saying "Just leave the state! Find a warehouse somewhere!" Sam has a bunch of projects and podcasts, if he can't commute to the FishTank set, he isn't going to host. He's not going to stop producing all his other stuff for 4 weeks to fly to Atlanta and host FishTank.

Maybe Jace can make a new character to be host.

Missing Sam is bad. Authority is huge, because nobody will take Jet seriously because he's a shlubby little troon, and Ben is likeable but not intimidating. He can also kill a bit when it sucks.

The Rachel stuff was god fucking awful, and Sam was the only entertainment I got out of it in the less than 30 minutes total he interacted with her.

Hope they're not total retards and the host is someone who can do that, and also that the host is not Chip.

For me its not the end of the world because most of my favorite fishtank moments are just people spazzing out but it feels like a good chunk of people mostly only watch because of Sam and I do think he played a pretty important part in steering the ship
