With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

Same old same old. We’re making a Bloodgames edit (showed some clips of it, looks really cool actually, told us that a fan made it originally but they approached him with a job offer) we’re making a game (online multiplayer apparently?) but you can’t play it for like another year, the next set will be pretty, we’re disappointed with season 4, the set and how it went (should this next season be s5 or s4.2?)
Talking about stuff everyone is doing (save for fucking Asian teenagers + paying e-girls to fly over and give us top) mentioned a site upgrade / update, general “WE are doing THINGS we’ve NEVER done before and it’s GONNA BE AWESOME!”
I prolly forgot some stuff but that is what I recall. Pl0x chip in with things I missed. OH and shit about the s3 edit, saying they didn’t expect people to want 100% but it’s getting done, they apparently have a team of very expensive very skilled people and haven’t been playing video games the entire break they took

  • S3 edits going to be 100%'d, someone already working on them
  • Bloodgames edit, he showed some clips. Has a game UI and a br*tish voiceover DM sort of like Baldur's Gate. Said some dude was making them on his own so they put him on payroll
  • They've got 360 cams in some rooms so the viewers can pan around the room.
  • They're putting a lot of effort into the set. He mentioned S3 set decoration and furniture was all bargain bin stuff, he's going for more of an S2 level of effort this time.
  • The game has more people working on it than the S5 crew. Will integrate with the Fishtank site but it's not a Fishtank game (allegedly) and isn't supposed to appeal to Fishtank fans primarily, supposed to have a broader appeal.

So in spirit of everyone getting a fair chance they'll be watching all the website auditions videos on stream - as over multiple days. [they mentioned a while ago that they passed over 300 submissions]
These videos are shown rather carelessly with the full (unlisted) youtube videos including URLs on display (some quick viewers already unlisted theirs). Despite being intro'd as people getting to see "all the freaks" they made it a point to say that this isn't done to clown on them but to gauge how people feel about them, give feedback and tell people what they're looking for in auditions.
They mentioned that no one has been cast for season 5 officially yet and they only got like 3 people they'd prefer so far. No date for it yet either. The final cast will be a mix but they mention having to cast fans is unavoidable ("or else you get famous house") and Jimmy is brought up as the best contestant they had so far.

Two of the most retarded statements one after another. God forbid we get another *checks notes* extremely well received portion of the show again? Outside of some contrarians FH is usually seen as pure kino.

Reading what they are saying charitably, I think they mean the issue with Famous House is the non-fans leave very quickly one after another, and suddenly you have half the cast you started with just from people who don't want to be there anymore.

I think the issue is the incentives are never that good for 'winning' while staying, for non-Fishtank fans.
 
Ben's start page showed the local weather for Sandy Springs, Georgia. So they're definitely in the Atlanta region for this stream. There is variation depending on the ISP for location, it could be a few towns away but you have a pretty good guess now.

As long as it's in an unzoned and unincorporated area I think that's great. I want it to be in a real house, want sun shining through the windows during the day, want multiple stories, and wouldn't want to rely on the FishTank crew plumbing and wiring up a fake-house set.

If they're to be believed (and they probably could, because the clips of it they show look pretty accurate), it's the Wataru Kannazuki edit. The original edit got taken down, and everyone assumed it was the wiggers' fault. If they actually paid the guy to do a full episodic edit, that seems cool, at least.
 
When asked about another Bloodgames, Jet said they could do it again because all it is is "terraforming" a property for 2 weeks of filming. Hopefully that's more credence to the rural property theory.

IDK I just want a crumb of hopium for Bloodgames. They were gonna cast Greg as the town drunk in BG2 according to king Gregga himself.
