With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

  • 2 Stars — Pretty bad. Some funny moments, dragged, too many vibe repair days. Barely worth checking.

  • 3 Stars — Average. Solid entertainment in spots, some good chaos and crashouts, but nothing special

    Votes: 176 22.7%
  • 4 Stars — Really good. Lots of hilarious moments, strong fish personalities, solid content and vibes

S2 was very colorful
The entire thing had such a vibrant array of color palettes and warm lighting. Felt cozy and festive (fitting)
It also amplified the icky puckers and made it feel like Hell House

Fishtank Vibes Conceptualized:

S1's vibe was Insane Asylum. Sparsely decorated, white walls, full of retards and whores. A blank canvas that was contrasted by the colorful uniforms of Sam and the sharks. great vibe.
S2's vibe was Hell House. Like going to your weird cousin's house and all his friends are there, high out of their minds living like total slobs. Stigmatized property that hasn't been nice since grandpa blew his brains out in the garden shed. Built on injun burial grounds, probably serially haunted.
S3's vibe was corporate reality show gone wrong, some freak scammed a small VC firm into funding his reality show concept that goes horribly wrong a week in.
S4's vibe was just The Raped. Everything was raped and awful and looked like it smelled bad. Same concept as s3 only instead of a savvy freak scamming VC's it was a discord mod that tried to ape the same vibe with duct-tape, string, e-girls, actual retards, and bam margera.

S4 was a rehash of S1, no gaslight, almost all people casted were fans, no new mechanics or characters. No sharks, 100% scuffed.

NO NEW CHARACTERS??!?!?!?
Sorry, I meant no new character from Sam. Each season, and even in Bloodgames Sam played a different character at the start.
S1- Jason Goldstriker
S2- Judge Jebediah Goldstriker
BloodGames- The Duke
S3- Jeremy Gold "G"

S4 was just Jason Goldstriker.

EDIT: We're basically saying the same thing my bad, reading is hard.
Kinda the whole point though, it was a throwback of sorts, nothing like some good nostalgia (although yeah, where tf were the sharks?) Vance knew about MDE on S1, so did Sylvia, Damiel was the plant, can't remember if anyone else knew who Sam/Jet were. The stocks were a new mechanic in S4 and it definitely added some zest to the season, Freddy was always obsessed with his stock price and it definitely drove him to do some crazy shit. I really enjoyed S4 until it went to shit, when Jet pulled the gloves off the cams and we were back in the S1 house, man, that was some good hype, I felt like that soy faggot star wars guy, it almost had me in tears 🥲

Burt's family has a troubled past that the cops may not like? Was his family involved in any crimes in Africa?
Dawg the whole point of fishtank is that it isn’t like big brother
Fishtank is explicity right wing big brother and borrows many elements. Season 3 the most popular season overall even borrowed the voting element which is central to big brother's design.

Letty knew, at least she knew Sam from the Iddubz video, she of course watched more and did great on the Sam Hyde Quiz.
The only people that didn't knew were Simmons, Mauro, Josie (Who supposedly knew some of Jet's stuff) and Jon (But since Jon came into the house late, he saw a lot of the stuff on social media, even spoiling that there would be TTS later on.)

I distinctly remember Letty saying she watched Doctor Manslave, or that it was her favorite may have been the conversation.

I’m glad I didn’t watch SLOP S4.
S2 was amazing ❤️
S4 had good things, it also didn't take 6 weeks so that lower investment could be considered a boon. It did seem like they had very little planned for S4 though and I don't think it would have been good even if it had continued.

Big Brother Australia has been airing recently and they have a few good ideas that FT could adopt if any wiggers are reading this (We know you are)
  • No fishbucks, rewards buy food for the week and goodies, only the head housemate can choose though
  • Head house mate - chosen by the most recent evictee.
Adds more depth to who you vote for because they can they fuck with you after they leave
    • Nominate 3 housemates to do chores; clean, cook and wake up early to make fresh bread
    • Can use fishbux to buy goodies from store room
    • Immune from elimination for the week
  • Long form challenges to fuck with people: how long can you stay awake, waking people at random hours to do challenges etc.
  • 3 housemates are put up for elimination each week and then the community decides who goes (Least votes).
  • Last meal: all 3 nominations get a prepared meal with wine. All rules are lifted ie, they can discuss their nominations etc.
There's some really good stuff in here actually, returning back to the original formula worked well this season.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, they are weaponising coffee something chronic this season. If the house fucks up, whether they break rules or completely flunk a challenge then no coffee. It's already created heaps of incidents where house mates have stashed coffee beans and been found out. 10/10 kino
These are great ideas for starting conflict but there’s a 98% chance it gets given up on in the first three days

Imagine one of the sleepy retards getting head of household and forgetting to “order” food so they live on scraps for three days before the wiggers bail them out. Imagine one of the spergs with bad hygiene forced to cook for everyone and not only giving everyone gross burned food but nearly starting a fire in the process because they’ve never done more than microwave meals. It’s not just a duty with friction and arguments, it’s amplified by how dysfunctional the contestants are.

Literally got a contestant from Big Brother.
The one that said the n word.

The voting mechanic was a horrible decision that made the fish purposefully avoid conflict as to not get voted out. Fishtank is good because of its lack of structure.

Jet did have a point during S3 when talking to Sam about it though. He said a lot of the elimination challenges were practically just random. He wants the fish to have agency. Voting is obviously the wrong way to go, but I thought the elimination challenges in S4 were in the right direction.

The Candy challenge spanning multiple days and ending with the Fish actually forming factions was fantastic, and it might have been one of my favorite Fishtank events ever. And the Stox elimination, while less entertaining, was also better than stuff like the SAT test or the disability challenge in terms of being a fair elimination.

Both voting and doing lame competitions both have their ups and downs
Voting is somewhat more fair but ruins the actual entertainment because they gotta be friends with each other and doing competitions only work for a few things like the Cell where Jet cant rig it.

Certain well performing fish should be given immunity for the good of the show, while the stragglers can battle to stay on
The one problem I see with this is say they announce Alex is unable to be voted out because of how awesome he is doing, by the next day you will have 5 people doing poor imitations of him to try and win the audience…. Actually that sounds pretty funny too so nevermind

The best solution is to rig every challenge or simply lie about the results so that good fish stay in the show until their arc is over.
