When Sam made that Q-anon parody video back in 2020 with nick you could still argue that not everything about the America First grooming and gay stuff was common knowledge then. Now? It’s all know. We know Nick covered up a gay brown pedophile and is very gay. Sam continuing to associate with him is just him not giving a shit.
I only watched the first episode or two of the official episodes, and while I did enjoy the new HD footage... I thought the editing was gay and shit. It didnt capture the essence of the show in my eyes. While not great, the recaps seemed better.
This is something s2 did way better, it didn't chop everything up so needlessly for the most part although I still think the s2 edits should have let the footage breathe a bit if you know what I mean. One of the things I think the official edits for s2 has over the recaps is the feeling of immersion and it's an important part of experiencing anything. You can't get immersed in the youtube recaps because that's not what they're made for. One of the things I'm trying to do with my s1 edits is let the episodes breathe as much as i can and let the episodes be long if they need to be long and to let the footage try and feel as natural as possible without wasting runtime. It's important to me because it's something I even wish they attempted more with the s2 edits.
Also as an update to the progress of my s1 edits, I decided to restructure the episodes to accommodate for what I'm describing above. I was mostly finished with the edits but I wasn't fully happy with them, I felt like I didn't add as much as I could have and I didn't even have anything to add to the last episode which really bummed me out. Luckily with some help from friends in this thread I was able to get all of the footage from the last few days so I'm going to try my best to extend that last episode as much as I think I should. And I'm also trying to edit an entire episode from scratch from archive footage because there was a period of time early in the season that was completely cut and ignored in the edit and I was unhappy having not even touched that era myself in my initial edit. In order to make it work it's going to alter other episodes as well and I'm going to have to move things around.
Sorry that it's delayed but it is coming and it will hopefully be better than it was the way I had it before.

I made a small post about Oddbod's Brit Games a few pages back - I didn't end up watching a lot of it myself but wanted to follow it up with the conclusion that it wasn't remotely up to par with Blood Games.
Part to blame are certainly the technical issues coming into focus (spotty connection & lack of working phone chargers) and of course the British weather.
In addition to that the LARP it wasn't all that convincing considering they were using phones, visited multiple places where "normal" people were hanging around or got themselves some ice cream. Supposedly Oddbod & Lou "wrote a lot" for this but this seems to be mostly the scenario.
As for monetization they got fish & chips for the group but little besides this - despite shilling it endlessly and having a 4x token sale from their sponsor. TTS also was broken frequently but they read chat a lot anyways.
It's worth pointing out that their location got "doxxed" within like the first 15 minutes and they had a guy showing up in a plague doctor costume shilling for RIP clan (one of the more active off-season clans engaging with the magic stars).

Imho this has a chance to be entertaining given the amount of work they put into it but it might also fall apart very quickly from their envisioned goal of being a "torture show" given that they're all friends and Aperture being the one holding the reins.
Their biggest hurdle is gonna be to get people to watch (especially given the general Stream Stars dismissal) but if people were willing to watch a Spanish knock off then they might stand a chance too.
