With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

Maybe I'm remembering wrong but they did stick to most of this list, which is good tbh. Season 3 was the best so far (not counting Bloodgames) and I do think that things like Jet reigning it in with the fucking around and less boxing was a boon. Sharks do need to be used more and not just for Jet to wreck the house, S1 had a good amount of Shark-usage, even if they're just doing weird shit, like the tools dropping down the stairs
 
The most obvious points they didn't stick to were having no e-girls and onlyfans whores. Binx was a blatant e-girl simpfarming, and Famous House and Famous House 2 both brought on onlyfans thots. (Ian and Burt for FH1 lmao, and a handful of OF girls for FH2)

Also lmao @ telling Jet to stop sperging out in chat because it gets screenshotted and used against him/Fishtank

Regardless, I have taken notes. I cannot stress how shitty this fat retard interviewer is. He's interviewed a ton of FT people and he hasn't gotten any better.
  • Bex was a fan of World Peace when it was on Adult Swim, has been an MDE fan ever since
  • Watched FT S1, Jon was her favorite
  • She got a job editing videos for some journalist named Derek/Derrick? Brose? in 2020 which went viral
  • Ended up becoming friends with members of the MDE crew (namedrops Bic a lot) who liked her music and had shared interests like crypto
  • First work with MDE was Mondo Megabits thanks to those connections, met the crew in person then
  • DJ'ed a Mondo Megabits event in summer 2022
  • Some time later Jet randomly hit her up and asked her to work on Fishtank (S2)
  • Her initial job for S2 was wardrobe and set design and she was supposed to leave right before the show started
  • Bex and "Shaman Joe" did a lot of the work getting the house ready as the wiggers were busy with the S1 edit
  • Jet asked her to stay on the whole season and she said yes
  • Bex did a lot of runner work getting stuff for challenges etc.
  • Bex was the one in charge of food S2
  • Made the iFunny banners for 2.5
  • Fat retard running the interview has camera issues, also his mic is like 50% the volume of Bex's the whole time
  • Had to take multiple trips in the snow to Target to get more and more AIDS tests when they did that bit
  • Says it was really cool watching Jet figure out Jimmy was being sent codewords, says Jet is really good at that
  • Bex's S2 favorites were "if I'm being honest, none of them" :story: but after thinking on it she says Cole
  • She didn't think any of the S2 fish grew in a satisfying way (besides Trish), total TJ death :story:
  • Bex took TJ to urgent care twice, once for his rib injury and the other time for pinkeye, says it felt like taking a kidnapping victim out in public. TJ listened to Frank Zappa on the way back to the house
  • Bex: "I'm kind of a sicko" FUCK SICKOS TOOBZ
  • "The house was pretty gnarly" by the end
  • Wondered what the hell she was doing with her life when she was boiling a bunch of disgusting food like pig stomachs she got at an Asian market for a challenge
  • Loved the vibe in 2.5
  • Felt she lost creativity during 2.5/Cell/Bitchtank
  • Bex was supposed to be on S3, was told that everybody was taking a break (after Bitchtank) and to wait for a call, they never called her
  • Bex bought the S2 chickens from a slaughterhouse, she's vegan btw
  • After an hour of the chickens being in the house the wiggers already wanted them gone because they stank and pooped everywhere
  • Says she called a sanctuary to take the chickens from them and the sanctuary people gave her a lecture about chicken exploitation :story:
  • Says her joke about leaving the chickens on the side of the road was taken out of context by the news/ASPCA
  • Bex thinks Ted was not a plant but just an oversight
  • Bex was involved in the S3 casting process and spoke to most of the S3 fish through aliases including Binx

S3 killed my excitement for Fishtank. It started promising but they blew it. S2 had the best theming. S1 had the best contestants/happenings. S 2.5 was the comfiest. S3 is the black sheep that feels momentum halting.

I think that is mostly true. I would consider a document like this to be more of an idealistic set of goals that they strive towards as best they can as opposed to an absolute set of laws that can not be broken.
The rushed casting for FH2 caused a lot of issues, Brandon, Whores etc. So they missed the mark but they still had the ( optimistic ) idealized goals. I have no doubt about that.

Ture fan reactions. I saw a bit of the interview and this was part of it. I think her statement that the setting became more of the show than the people is also a good observation, especially as the days went on.

This whole thing kinda reminds me of how some writers at Bethesda bragged about not having a master design document for Starfield that everyone needed to adhere to at all times (leading to a messy, uninspired release). Notetaking like this is very loose and easily broken from. Great for quick sketches like Boston Ross, The Johnny, and irl improv bits but really bad for projects of any scale.
Hopefully they come up with something more concrete for season 4, they really have lightning in a bottle here. Season 3 had seven or eight insane highs that blew every other season out of the water. If they had found a way to tie it all together before the season started and stuck to it, not only would the season have been the best by far but the final fully edited episodes would have probably been a Tiger King-like phenomenon for some lucky streaming service, or at least as popular as "Jury Duty" but way more memorable.

Claire seems to be on a spree lately with her letty comments that she seemed to catch alot of flak for, and she has come out of hibernation to stream several times the last couple weeks after being gone for months, somethings going on with her.

I always hated when every season Sam breaks character and just shoots the shit with the fish and ruins his illusion of being someone they need to take serious or is anything other than a character, happened in season 3 before famous house 1.0 ended where Sam just hung out in the kitchen one night for a few hours and all the fish got to know him. Not actually sure what they mean by no Letty/Claire type stuff, that's stuff the audience likes and it seems they took the wrong message from people shitting on them for being dumb and getting Claire eliminated from bitchtank and giving Haley the win.

I always liked the little behind the scenes peaks or little things shared and i dont think they overdid it, i think this soley comes from dumbgay leaking a huge amount of stuff from bloodgames often early in the morning spoiling all the stuff they had planned for the day, and the couple times he shared pics of their whiteboard with all their plans on it.

While Sam did work out several times in the house since the house is so big it was more private and it was just him kinda hanging out with a couple people in the yard which wasnt too bad, and the boxing was more entertaining this time and used more sparingly.

They did keep this up for awhile and it was nice to sometimes only see them once or twice a day at most, in season 2 i felt like half of production spent so much time in the house they almost became freeloaders

Thats kind of shitty of them to tell her to wait for a call and then not bring her back, it probably would have helped some of the more normie fishes to see a woman every now and then and make them feel alot less like they are about to be murdered as a few of them said they felt. I also wondered who the female several of the fish said they spoke to during casting was since they gave a couple different names and never said bex, and it seems it was just her.
