With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

i hate giving jet credit, so i am going to just arbitrarily assume 2.5 worked as well as it did because of cowboy. let's all give cowboy a round of applause for actually making sure bloodgames worked so much better than this trash fire.
 
Not exactly impressed so far.
Firstly, the technology is a mess; the vests are clearly not working properly and at least in the case of Letty and Jon, outsourcing the streaming side of things to the contestants seems like a bad idea. I mean, Jon is online at least, but he can't figure out how to point the camera straight ahead so it's really hard to follow what's going on. Plus the sound sucks.
Secondly, even if all that stuff was straightened out I'm not sure how interesting any of this would even be. The fun of Bloodgames was in all the gay stuff; the larping, the interpersonal drama, the little bits. POV combat was just a spice on the side, not something you would turn into an entire show.

Whatever, we'll see how things turn out, but I think I'm coming out of this with a greater appreciation for Jet and the crew.

Ice has changed his mind on the white t-shirt plan, instead he's going to give everyone 100 life points on their vest, hoping running and walking through trees/bushes won't do much damage. I think people are still going to end up dying prematurely and in dumb ways, which ruins the game.

Edit: SlightlyHomeless went and found the gulag, if you're wondering what that was. It's a weird little "party" spot on the map with a lady there that gives you booze after you die. Even though chat has been telling Homeless he's not dead, he doesn't know who to believe because he isn't receiving Ice's official notifications. He asks the lady (who doesn't speak English that well) if he can still have a drink. He does get a drink and eventually someone gets to him and tells him he isn't dead anymore, so he has to leave the gulag. At least he got a drink out it, apparently you aren't allowed to drink unless you die.

Letty is now struggling to take a shit on the ground.

If nothing else, Blood Games had outhouses. If there was literally no other thing to brag about, the contestants always seemed comfortable shitting.

A real strategical mind would have camped the outhouse with a ranged weapon while hiding since Ice already said No Pottying Outside. Which several streamers have already done.

Also so much for out of bounds being a disqualifier:

Ice has said that they are definitely not out of bounds, it is just their GPS not being super accurate.
 
Some dude just got pissed off and quit after getting chased and gunned down by the hunters (girls on a side-by-side with their asses out). He apparently thought the red paint was his blood. They also shot another in the head, and that guy went back to his team just for all of them to also think it was blood, they started screaming lawsuit and that they're gonna assault anyone who shoots them in the head
