With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

The houses are clearly being bought with the intention of using the subscription/fishtoy/TTS money to pay off the cost of the house, the pre-show refurb, the post-show refurb, operating costs, wages, prize money, and any other overheads. They will probably need to make well in excess of $2m, maybe closer to $3m to recoup all of that money.

We saw from the end of S2.5 that the operation has been exponentially ramped up season-on-season. If they're still hoping to get some investment, the profits will absolutely need to reflect that.

They've made a large profit off of flipping every house they've used for Fishtank. I don't have the screenshots but the tax evaluation of the S1 house almost doubled meaning they sold it for 2x. (I stand corrected and was wrong as someone so eloquently pointed out in chat). It was almost a running gag that they could do whatever they wanted with the S2 like smash the walls and fuck the house up in S2 because they were just going to strip it and rebuild it regardless.

Wiggers be printing money. They're obviously making huge amounts of money off of the show.

The S1 house wasn't theirs, it was the summer home of some friend who was willing to let them use it for the show as long as they paid for the damages they did.

I feel we have hit the low we experienced with season 2 with bitchtank. I do not care who wins and 99% of the time it's just boring. All the interesting stuff comes from freeloaders or the crew. Kind of wish they just kept the cell going instead of this.
