But they weren't. Megan was leaving piss bottles around on day 3, Tay heckled Jimmy so hard during the hogtying challenge that it prompted his first sperg out, Trish got pissed with Cole and scissored his coat. This kind of stuff just wasn't as iconic as the Season 1 crew realizing the best way to win the baby challenge was by making others lose by shaking their babies.
I really think missing the multi-day challenges was part of this. You could see how instantly during milk & rice they needed no time to think of how they could fuck each other over there. But if you think of the disability challenge last season, when Letty had crutches, it took them until the evening to go "what if we disassemble the crutches while she's asleep?" for example. Or when Letty didn't have arms and Damiel didn't have legs she squirreled his wheelchair away.
The challenges this season were too tight most of the time. They were told off for not mashing each other's spaghetti and marshamallow towers but they'd only had 3 minutes or less in the presence of their opponent's tower and no time to discuss whether that would be a good idea. Imagine instead, random challenge idea (unfunny, but just to demonstrate the concept): they all have to stay on all fours and the last one to stand up off their hands and knees wins. After about an hour or so of tolerating it they'd start thinking "hey what if I start throwing everyone's shit on top of the fridge?" for example. But usually they had prod physically in the room or it was made pretty clear the challenge was not meant to go on that long so they wouldn't get to the point of thinking they needed a long-term edge in order to win anything.
Tons of completely fruitless sabotage happened in the first week between Cole and Brian and Trish. Crap just being moved, broken, fussed with, but none of it was "iconic" or interesting because it didn't have any weight in a challenge and was mostly expected. Getting your baby shaken or waking up to disassembled crutches is iconic.
Ninji should have been that moment, they had all night to think of something to fuck over the other team, but Jet was the one to tell him to do it so it sucks all the fun out.
watching Vance stream, about 150 or so average.
Someone asked him what he thought of the Swamp Olympics and he said he would've been okay with any of the fish winning. Vance said he thought Tayleigh would win at the start, and when she took all the chips, and said "if she used them right" he thought she could have won but ultimately the challenges "weren't in her favor."
I really think they all overestimated how hard she would dominate, she was good but she wasn't Superman or anything. The Shinji TJ teamup was orchestrated to take down someone whose strength was endurance and not literal physical strength or speed.
