It doesn't look like they've moved much beyond ripping out the carpets, which is probably where majority of the insane smell problems came from. Tay said on her most recent stream that she went totally nose blind to the house until she was eliminated and got a proper shower in the ADU in the basement, only then was she able to smell the literal aura of funk that was emanating from her clothes from about a yard or two away. Nick was commenting on how foul the place smelled as far back as right after New Years, by the time the show ended it must have been insane, particularly when nobody was able to do laundry for nearing two weeks.

Doing a proper series on Youtube explaining what and why they're doing stuff and recording themselves renovating the house would have been a modest little bit of income though I can say that such stuff is really irritating when you just want to get in and grind out some hard labor, placing cameras for timelapse footage is a real pain in the ass.
The house having no ventilation really contributes to how bad it would have smelt.

Rewatching the edit Alex Schultz made for Fish BNB which was really fucking good and saw this gem.

How do we tell him......... Screenshot 2024-02-16 8.00.43 PM.png

Do you guys think season 2 is a dud? Also do you think fishtank as a concept is doomed? I feel like it will always end with the house being destroyed and the final two literally fighting for fifty grand. Not much room for anything else.

In my opinion, it’s not about the winner at all. It’s about the fucked up journey to get there. The “rules” don’t matter. The ending doesn’t matter. Just the chaos and lulz along the way. I don’t see what’s doomed about that. Just enjoy the ride. Also, season two was pretty good in my opinion, although it peaked early on the day that they did the elimination where TJ got mindraped by Sam and had to tell Taylor she was kicked off. There was plenty of good content afterwards, but nothing reached that same high

Having no windows opened and having the front door opened very little will also lead to stale air, a real phenomenon with minor negative health effects. On older houses, air will naturally infiltrate and exfiltrate through the corners and outlets of the house, but with that many people, there is no way it can keep up.

TLDR: the air itself is probably making them feel shitty.

I liked season 2. I had a good time watching it. For me it was a step down from season 1 and I found the last 3 contestants not interesting enough for me to keep tuning in daily. Considering how much money both seasons made I don't think it's doomed at all.

As a reality show I think it sucks, there's no clear way to win and everything is pulled out of their ass. As a piece of media, I enjoyed it far more than the first season. It manages to be good in spite of production. The contestants this season didn't suck (except Shinji) as much as Jet and Sam like to scapegoat them. I'd say next season they'll figure it out but they won't, the show will still be interesting and it'll have nothing to do with production (except Ben).

yeah, seeing the Jimmy Hitting Brit bit live was such a a rush... I stayed up until 2am, totally fucked up my sleep schedule.

I don't know if S1 had those moments.

Season 2 is a dud in many ways but will turn a profit. If their goal is to "make a profit" then it will be a success for years. Much of the profit is leaning on season 1 hype from pre-season.

The concept isn't doomed but we got confirmation the people behind it have no clue what they're doing. If anything I think the concept is extremely resilient and that's why it makes money in spite of repeated fuck ups.

I'd say Damiel throwing out all of Letty's shit and then the Drunk Piece of Shit right after that was pretty great and kinda on that level. But it was definitely more lighthearted on the whole, as a day, because there was the lance/vance nerf fight and then the water fight and letty taking shit out of the porta potty and lance doing the push-ups and shit and generally little funny moments to break it up. It was a more balanced sort of day because the fish weren't just traumatized and freaked out to the point where they were hiding from each other hand all evening and having fistfights the next day.

Letty destroying Jon's bible, the passport and Chris charging Letty I think would both qualify as that kind of unhinged moment.

There were a lot of moments in s1 that were pretty crazy just surrounding fatty. S2 he was really on his best behavior and just being a huge creep to the female fish and trying to act like the star. Seeing him fall down the stairs with the screaming afterwards followed by 3 hours of crying was my favorite.

I think Fatty had his moments during season 2 but he was a lot more self aware that he was brought into to generate content so it felt more inorganic. Plus he had already basically done everything he did before in season 1. Hitting on all the women, shitting and showing the camera, throwing tantrums, threatening to storm off it had all been done before.

I felt like I should mention here because it’s a cow crossover. Sam talked about getting Kingcobrajfs in fishtank on his last stream. He said that he wanted to get him on season 2 but it was just too hard to line up. He says that he doesn’t want people to bother him about the show and hopes they can get him for season 3.

I remember before this season, Jet saying they were trying but that Cobes was being a total diva about it, but maybe since he's finally broken his dry spell and gotten some socialization (even if it was just with that disgusting swamp hag), he'll be more amenable towards signing on for the next season.

I remember before that Jet said having lolcows on is stupid and the show is about advancing culture and lifting people up.
