With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

Abi didn't initiate any hostilities with Jimmy, he just was going into a maniac state from stress which was made worse by Tay pointing out a few inconsistencies with the way Abi was acting and warned Jimmy and TJ to be careful around her since she was a freeloader, and freeloaders were there to fuck with them. Jimmy completely lost his shit in a manner that not even Tay could tard wrangle effectively like she had been doing alongside Delaney. Jimmy was just magnifying every single thing she did to an extreme extent and fucking with her until she boiled over and brought Trish in who was getting a bit irritated with Jimmy at the same time and wanted to knock him down a peg.



Jimmy was just unsuited for the tank, when Sam was hassling him over the coded TTS stuff you could clearly see him getting ready to boil over in a dangerous manner, he was seriously looking at the scissors for a bit of time

I, for one, feel the physical assaults really improved the show by upping the hell house factor. The mallet throw was just a tad too far. If he simply punched her in the face or went over and start kicking her. That would be fine. You know. Typical stuff we've all seen our parents do. Who among us hasn't been woken up at 3 in the morning by their parents having a loud, violent, physical fight? The contestants should be free to commit domestic violence as long as they don't use weapons on each other. They can only beat each other with their bare hands.

It's hilariously tone-deaf that Vance has repeatedly called the season 2 fish cringe for being fans. This is the MDE fan whose master plan to stand out in season 1 were EPIC trolls such as "I was the baby in the teletubbies" and "my dad was in led zeppelin"

Vance was only justified in his remarks when it came to the fish seeing directly through the show in a meta way. This just meant that the production crew had to step up their game and do better, but they didn't.

I can't imagine being a Fishtank fan and swearing that one of the one-week-wonders was the best person for the entire season. Move on dude, there's 5 whole weeks of show without those dipsticks and they're still hung up on wondering whether Cole or Summer or Meg would have won The Cell, or pogged or soyed at Joker Jimmy, or how long it would have taken Frank to send one of them crying to the basement, or whether they'd be anti or pro-Tay

Shinji's running gag of counting off every time he caught Taylor thirst trapping the camera was excellent and he literally points to the succubus demon in his berserk manga and said "TJ and Taylor." Shinji was way better early season when he had people to bounce off of, when it got reduced to the final four he was just at a loss since his kind of light-hearted content relied on others and the hellhouse stuff was completely opposite of his personality and manner of making jokes.

Oh shit, reminds me. There was that beef bell challenge between Shinji and Trish where they were instructed to make Chris laugh. I think it was a little ways into Shinji losing some of his oomph but basically Trish just flounced around waved her ass around and didn't actually make Chris laugh but Shinji pulled out his stupid "obamna" classics and Chris giggled even though he was trying not to laugh. Then Jet came in and went like, "Actually, so, Shinji, you clearly appealed directly to Chris' sense of humor and you have a whole routine that works pretty reliably and everything, but Trish tried new things, and you didn't, so even though Chris didn't laugh at anything she said or did, she wins." And then he literally like stomped around and seethed until Jet came back and said someone had already paid for "wild dog."
He hadn't ever said "I can't be funny" before that moment but after that he was constantly going, I guess I'm not funny anymore! I guess I can't be funny, I guess I've stopped being funny, I can't make jokes anymore...

On one hand, yeah, I think it would have been a good direction for Shinji to come up with something new, on the other, the attempt to provoke him to do that just squashed his spirit for the entire rest of the season like Bugs Bunny under an anvil.
